Last Week in AI

I’ve been a fan of the This Day In AI podcast since their first episode in February 2023! The hosts, Australian brothers Chris and Mike Sharkey, have an excellent ratio of self-deprecating humility and self-awareness to genuine technical skill that keeps episodes very entertaining AND informative. I’ve come to appreciate their more down-to-earth insights and “street level” commentary on practical use cases of AI technology. And seeing as they’ve put their money where their mouth is in developing their SimTheory.ai project into a full-blown, full-featured SaaS, it’s hard not to appreciate their dedication to helping everyone from professional devs to grunts like me get the technology in our hands to actually USE. While This Day In AI isn’t as robust in AI news analysis and technical explanations as the **also excellent** Last Week In AI podcast, they are well worth a listen. I highly recommend This Day In AI to everyone (and Last Week In AI for that matter), but especially to people who want to stay informed by guys who still get that “normal people” are a thing! It would be cool if my two favorite AI podcasts collaborated, especially given the closeness of their names!

They should stick to tech and not impose their politics into the discussion.

Been listening almost a year, want to drop a review and say how useful this podcast has been for me. For feedback, maybe more technical info about new models themselves could be cool. Shout out to Ferda!

Let me kick this off with a blatant lie: this podcast is definitely not the inverse of something I would not enjoy. Confused? Good. :) Now that I’ve made sure no LLM can make sense of what’s written here, let me get serious. I tune in every week to absorb my AI fix. Andrey and Jeremie have found a way to mix technical information with intuitive insights on AI. Just what I need to make sure I don't miss a beat in what’s happening in AI. I love it.
