This season is less about having answers, and more about learning how to listen — to yourself, to others, and to what’s unfolding in this new paradigm. My journey has led me to an exciting artist residency in New York, where conversation, creativity, and human connection have become the medium for my up-coming exhibit. Centered around the symbol of the butterfly, each episode unfolds inside a shared “cocoon” space, where people from all walks of life are invited to create, reflect, and speak honestly about the experiences that have shaped them. As I sit with my guests to create butterfly art for the exhibit, a collective portrait of metamorphosis emerges — a record of what it means to change, to outgrow, and to become your true self in real time. In this opening episode, I sit down with Vaness Henry — shamanic practitioner, storyteller, and one of two producers behind this podcast — to introduce the origins of this season and the deeper intention behind the work. Together, we explore what it means to build something rooted in co-creation rather than control. We entertain the idea that everyone is inherently philosophical, and when given the right environment, people naturally reveal the deeper truths they hold within. In this era, is how we nurture one another more powerful than our nature? Explore the role our relationships have in shaping our health and identity, and the courage it takes to leave behind lives that no longer feel aligned.
