I’ve been listening to since the beginning 20 years ago. Of the many Apple shows, this used to be interesting, at least when they talked about the technology. When Leo’s guests are Developers or technology experts evolving the product, it’s interesting, but it’s usually a panel of journalists that aren’t technology professionals. I don’t mind Jason Snell, but I agree with others that Andy rambles. The show is also too political, be it about Apple or politics in general. I only want ton know about the technology and it would be nice to have experts that can speak about hardware and software.

I’ve listened for years, and the shift is obvious. What used to feel like a disciplined Apple roundtable now often sounds padded with commentary that doesn’t add insight. The most frustrating change is the tone of the political detours. Too many segments slide into smarmy, surface-level talking points that feel closer to recycled cable-news soundbites than informed analysis. It crowds out what the show used to do best: clear, grounded breakdowns of Apple strategy, products, and ecosystem impact. The structure has also loosened. Earlier panels sounded controlled and intentional—clean moderation, efficient pacing, and contributors who knew how to land a point quickly. Now conversations overlap more, segments drag, and airtime often goes to minor observations rather than deeper technical discussion. Delivery is another issue. Broadcast presence matters in long-form audio, and not every newer voice has the cadence or restraint the format requires. Some contributors sound rushed or strained, which makes the overall discussion feel cluttered instead of authoritative. The show is still worth hearing when it stays focused on Apple’s roadmap, developer implications, and real-world usage. That’s where its experience and institutional knowledge shine. But the value drops whenever it leans into shallow political commentary instead of technical substance. Tightening moderation and refocusing on expertise would restore much of what made it essential listening.

Christina is a great addition to the panel! The vibe feels refreshed and I appreciate the perspective that can only come from folks who’ve been in the industry through its ages.

The show is alright. Provides some good insight and perspective. I would say its biggest asset has been its change in panel members nd perspectives over the years. But Andy needs to be replaced at this point. He has really become a dead horse after all these years and man, can he just get to the point. Not everything needs a five hour explanation.
