I’ve been listening to since the beginning 20 years ago. Of the many Apple shows, this used to be interesting, at least when they talked about the technology. When Leo’s guests are Developers or technology experts evolving the product, it’s interesting, but it’s usually a panel of journalists that aren’t technology professionals. I don’t mind Jason Snell, but I agree with others that Andy rambles. The show is also too political, be it about Apple or politics in general. I only want ton know about the technology and it would be nice to have experts that can speak about hardware and software.

The show has clearly drifted from what made it strong. It used to sound like a disciplined Apple roundtable: controlled moderation, efficient pacing, and contributors who could make sharp, useful points without clutter. Now it often feels padded, with overlapping discussion, weaker structure, and too much commentary that adds little substance. The political detours are a major problem. Instead of informed analysis, they often come off like shallow, recycled cable-news filler. That noise crowds out the material the show is actually good at: Apple strategy, product analysis, ecosystem shifts, developer implications, and practical real-world impact. A big part of the decline is contributor discipline. Too much airtime now goes to minor observations, fast-talking interruptions, and drawn-out commentary that never lands anywhere meaningful. Christina is the clearest example of that problem. She constantly jumps in with rushed, distorted, low-value opinions while others are speaking, then says very little of substance when given the floor. Her delivery feels shrill, cluttered, and full of clichés, and instead of improving the discussion, it derails it. At this point, she makes the podcast difficult to sit through. The show still has value when it stays focused on Apple’s roadmap and technical substance. But to get back to being essential listening, it needs tighter moderation, sharper pacing, and far less empty commentary from contributors who mistake constant talking for insight.

I like Jason and enjoy his takes but Andy just won’t get to the point. Is Leo paying him in words said? Or does he get a bonus anytime he compares Apple to Google? Yes we get it, you love Google. Christina seems fine. I find myself skipping through to sections where I think the commentary might be insightful but those are getting less and less. I’ve mostly moved over to Relay.fm podcasts for my Apple News and commentary.

Christina is a great addition to the panel! The vibe feels refreshed and I appreciate the perspective that can only come from folks who’ve been in the industry through its ages.
