    83. How to Sell with More Confidence as a Woman

Why does selling feel so uncomfortable for so many women—and what if it didn't have to? In this candid conversation, Emily sits down to unpack the biggest mindset shifts that transform sales from something that feels pushy, awkward, or "icky" into something that feels authentic, aligned, and deeply impactful. Drawing from nearly two decades of experience in sales—from beauty and wellness to coaching and entrepreneurship—Emily shares why the most effective sales conversations aren't about convincing people. They're about connection, trust, and believing in the transformation you offer. In this episode, you'll discover: Why so many women struggle to sell themselves—but have no problem promoting othersHow to overcome the "ick factor" around salesThe difference between masculine and feminine approaches to sellingHow your energy and self-belief directly influence your sales successWhy alignment matters more than persuasionPractical ways to make selling feel natural, joyful, and genuinely supportiveWhether you're a coach, service provider, creative entrepreneur, or simply someone who wants to share your work with more confidence, this conversation will help you reframe sales as an act of service rather than pressure. Because when you believe in yourself and what you offer, selling becomes less about convincing—and more about inviting the right people into the transformation you know is possible. About Emily: Meet Emily Elliot — Sales Confidence Coach and co-founder of the WAVE Mastermind. Emily’s career hasn’t followed a straight line — it has followed curiosity, courage, and a refusal to settle. Emily started her career in marketing and public relations in the beauty industry, hosting events for top magazine editors at a young age. She worked both client and agency side for a number of top known brands, mastering the art of messaging, connection, and influence. She then took a brave leap and switched gears to become a Naturopathic Doctor. A few years into this journey, the alignment still wasn’t there. With another big dose of courage, she waved good bye to her doctor license and kicked off her coaching business, focused on women’s empowerment and community building. This time, the shoe really fit and she thrives in this world today. She is a TEDx speaker on the topic of “Is it Time to Quit” and has spoken on stages about burnout recovery. She hosts the podcast “The peaceful Mama leads” as a space for mothers and business owners to feel integrated, clear and peaceful as they build families and businesses side by side. Today, she helps women build unapologetic confidence in sales, speak with authority, and create businesses that actually support their lives — not drain them. Off the clock, she’s Mama to Koah + Summer, wife to Blake, and forever dreaming of her next trip back to Bali. Powered mostly by coffee and good playlists, you’ll usually find her choosing dancing as her favourite form of exercise. 80. Behind the Scenes of Our Biggest Event Ever: What Worked, What Flopped, and What's Next for Wave

Fresh off their biggest event yet — an 80-woman gathering that left attendees floating out of the venue — Kelsey and Em sit down for an honest, behind-the-scenes debrief. From what went wrong to what made it magical, they share the real story of growing Wave Live Events with heart and intention. In This Episode How to resource yourself (and your household) in the week before a big event The mindset shift that kept them grounded when things went sideways The biggest level-ups from past events — including finally taking up space on their own stage Why their event feels different from every other women's networking event Funny behind-the-scenes moments: construction, agenda glitches, and rolling with it How their kids stuffed every swag bag — and what that means about building a business Post-event processing: the crash, the recovery, and the lessons carried forward What's coming next for Wave: micro events, new cities, and protecting the community's soul Key Takeaways Protect your energy before a big event — Have an honest conversation with your support system early. Ask for help before you desperately need it. Presence over perfection — The most valuable thing you bring to your event is your energetic presence, not a flawless run-of-show. Asking for help is a level-up, not a weakness — Delegating details lets you zoom out, see the big picture, and show up better. To teach women to take up space, you have to take up space yourself — Stop hiding behind other people's stages. Your community wants to hear from you. Heart-centered beats ego-forward every time — Five deep connections at an event are worth more than 45 business cards you'll never remember. "There is no perfect time for anything. You just have to do it." "If we're teaching other women to take up more space, we need to be taking up more space ourselves." "You leave some events feeling more disconnected than when you arrived — even in a room of a hundred people. We never want Wave to be that."
