Our Biggest Pet Peeves Are Getting Out of Hand | Mic Warning #61

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! What are the little things that can ruin an otherwise perfectly good day? Derek and Keelan are joined by Riley as we count down our biggest pet peeves, and it turns out we have a lot more complaints than we thought. From people who can't merge onto a highway and drivers who sit through green lights to slow walkers, Costco traffic jams, and people who stop in the middle of a walkway, we're getting everything off our chests. We also get into people who send six text messages instead of one, voice notes nobody wants to listen to, chewing with your mouth open, and the disappearing art of holding doors and saying thank you. Then the conversation takes an unexpected turn when Derek explains why his biggest pet peeve is people who give up before they even try. We get into failure, starting something new, supporting your friends, and why it's never too late to give something a shot. Somehow McDonald's, root beer, smelling salts, and another round of trivia also make their way into the episode. What's your number one pet peeve? Let us know in the comments. Could We Actually Survive a Horror Movie? | Mic Warning #60

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Could we actually survive a horror movie? Derek, Keelan, and Ashley get into Halloween by figuring out which horror villains we'd stand a chance against. From Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees to Freddy Krueger, Ghostface, and Pennywise, we're pretty confident we could outrun some of them. Others? Not so much. We also get into paranormal experiences, being afraid of the dark, ghosts and demons, haunted houses, and the extreme experience of McKamey Manor. Would you spend a year alone in a padded room for $10 billion? Then Halloween candy starts an argument nobody expected. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, candy corn, Tootsie Rolls, Big Turk, and dark chocolate all get dragged into the debate, along with childhood trick-or-treating stories, pillowcases full of candy, and why Halloween doesn't feel quite the same anymore. Ashley finishes things off with Halloween trivia covering classic horror movies, Michael Myers' original mask, the history of Halloween, the Salem witch trials, and more. Things We Grew Up With That Just Disappeared | Mic Warning #59

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Remember when you had to print MapQuest directions, circle Christmas gifts in a Sears catalogue, or wait for the TV guide to scroll all the way around? Derek, Keelan, and Ashley take a trip back to the 90s and 2000s to talk about all the things we grew up with that somehow disappeared. We revisit Canadian classics like BodyBreak, Heritage Minutes, and the legendary House Hippo. One of us even admits to leaving food in the closet because we genuinely believed those tiny hippos were real. Then it's payphones, pagers, Blockbuster, dial-up internet, cassette tapes, roller rinks, first cars, and why everything seemed simpler before smartphones took over. We also get into dating before social media, terrible FM transmitters, and the days when you actually had to know where you were going. We wrap things up with nostalgia trivia and Mandela Effects that still have us questioning reality. Did the Monopoly Man have a monocle? Did Pikachu have a black tip on his tail? We're still not convinced. Why We Would Vote to Separate Alberta | Mic Warning #58

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Would you vote for Alberta to separate from Canada, even if you wanted the country to stay together? Derek, Keelan, and Ali get into Alberta independence, equalization payments, the upcoming referendum, and why Western Canadians feel like their voices aren't being heard. We also argue about golfers hitting houses, hear Ali's nightmare airport experience in Dubai, talk about $120 drinks and travel disasters, and somehow end up discussing the WNBA, Putin, and Kim Jong Un. Then it's animal trivia, where the confidence is high and the answers aren't always right. GTA 6 Is Starting to Sound Like a Second Job | Mic Warning #57

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Is GTA 6 about to become a second full-time job? Derek, Keelan, and returning guest Allie get into the rumours, new features, and ridiculous possibilities surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6. From realistic driving and relationships to in-game money and massive open worlds, we wonder how much realism is actually too much. We also get into why Call of Duty Zombies isn't as fun as it used to be, the glory days of Halo multiplayer, whether Marvel peaked with Avengers: Endgame, and why some iconic movie characters just can't be replaced. Plus, Trailer Park Boys, Johnny Depp, childhood movies, horror films, and a geography trivia showdown to finish things off. #56 - Did We Actually Land on the Moon? This Got Heated

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Did we actually land on the moon, or is someone buying into one too many conspiracy theories? This week, Derek and Keelan are joined by Ali and Riley as a conversation about globes turns into an argument about the moon landing, flat Earth, Antarctica and why the world map doesn't look quite right. Before that, there's a story of a $1,000 bet to quit vaping, underground poker stories from Toronto and plans for more Mic Warning games. Then we're choosing one cuisine to eat forever, figuring out whether any of us could survive stand-up comedy and finishing with some movie and video game trivia that goes about as smoothly as you'd expect. #55 - Why Does a Safety Vest Make You Look Official?

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Apparently a safety vest, hard hat and clipboard are enough to make almost anyone look like they belong somewhere. Derek and Keelan get way too deep into how easily someone can look official just by dressing the part and realize they probably would've fallen for it themselves. Then we get into Black Friday “deals,” terrible Christmas pet decisions, whether your cat would eat you, sharks somehow turning into a biology lesson, exotic meat, the old internet, Nexopia, MSN Messenger, T9 texting, BlackBerry and another round of trivia. #54 - Would a Zombie Apocalypse Even Work in Canada?

🎙️ Welcome to Mic Warning! Would a zombie apocalypse even work in Canada? Derek, Keelan and Riley somehow end up seriously debating whether zombies would survive a Canadian winter, whether they could even function without blood and oxygen, and why The Last of Us might be one of the more believable versions of the idea. Before and after that, we question how planets work, argue over The Matrix and Avatar, rediscover just how ridiculous the Air Bud universe was, fall into a giant early-2000s movie rabbit hole, fact-check ourselves from last week and finish with another round of trivia.
