173: The Art of Slowing Down

In this 11-minute episode, I share a simple kayaking experience from a recent trip to New Brunswick that unexpectedly became one of the biggest lessons I've had in slowing down, self-awareness, and the stories we unknowingly carry through life. When my husband and I kept falling behind on a guided kayak tour, I noticed how quickly I slipped into feeling like a burden and wanting to rush to keep up. What happened next made me pause and ask: How often are we rushing through life without ever questioning why? Together, we'll explore how everyday moments can become powerful opportunities for self-reflection, why our triggers often reveal old beliefs rather than present-day reality, and how learning to slow down can help us reconnect with ourselves, the people around us, and the life we're so busy trying to build. If you've ever felt like you're always chasing the next thing, worried about inconveniencing others, or struggled to simply be present, this episode is for you. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. 172: The Secret to Showing Up Fully with Rachael-Jayne

In this 48-minute episode, I sit with Rachael-Jayne, international keynote speaker, TEDx presenter, three-time best-selling author, and founder of The Awakened School, for a powerful conversation about presence, visibility, and magnetic energy. Rachael shares how her work began with her own fear of being seen, and how healing that resistance transformed her life, relationships, and business. We explore the difference between performance and true embodiment, why so many of us slip into self-consciousness or overgiving, and how our energy field communicates before we even speak. Rachael breaks down her Unshakable Presence framework, including the five primary star codes that support deeper embodiment, receptivity, expression, liberation, and authenticity. She also shares practical insight on people-pleasing, saying no with clarity, staying grounded under pressure, and reclaiming your life force so you can feel safe, centered, and fully present in any room. If you’ve ever struggled with visibility, burnout, or feeling like you have to be “on” all the time, this conversation offers a fresh and empowering perspective on how to return home to yourself. 171: Navigating the Loneliness Epidemic

In this 16-minute podcast, I unpack the growing loneliness epidemic and explore why so many people feel emotionally disconnected despite being more digitally connected than ever before. We dive into the 2023 U.S. Surgeon General’s report on loneliness, the science behind connection and co-regulation, attachment theory, vulnerability, and the nervous system’s need for emotional safety and belonging. I also explore the difference between fitting in versus true belonging, the loss of community and “third spaces” in modern life, and why many people today are surrounded by others yet still feel deeply alone. I share insights from Blue Zones research and how some of the world’s longest-living communities prioritize relationships, rituals, purpose, and interdependence as part of daily life, reminding us that connection is not just emotional, but biological. This episode is both compassionate and practical, offering gentle reminders and actionable ways to begin cultivating deeper, more authentic connection in a world that often encourages hyper-independence and emotional masking. If you’ve been feeling disconnected, unseen, or emotionally isolated lately, this conversation is a reminder that you are not broken and that healing often happens in safe relationships and community. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. 170: The Psychology of Abuse: How It Starts and How It Spreads

In this 11-minute episode, I explore the critical difference between situational conflict and characterological abuse and why understanding that distinction can change lives. I break down how some relationships struggle because of poor regulation and unhealthy conflict patterns, while others are rooted in power, fear, coercion, and control. I also discuss how abuse often begins in childhood through victim-blaming messages many people don’t even realize they absorbed, such as being taught that if someone hurts you, it must be because you “caused” it.  From there, we examine how these same dynamics can scale beyond the home into workplaces, communities, and even governments. This episode is both educational and empowering: how to recognize dangerous patterns, when conflict can be healed, when safety must come first, and why abuse is never the victim’s fault. If you’ve ever questioned your reality, minimized harmful behavior, or wanted to better understand how power operates in relationships and society, this episode is for you. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. 169: Should Couples Go To Bed Angry?

In this 12-minute episode, I unpack the common relationship advice that “good couples never go to bed angry”and offer a more nuanced, research-informed perspective. We explore what actually happens in the brain and body during conflict, including emotional flooding, the role of the amygdala, and why the prefrontal cortex goes offline when we’re overwhelmed. I also break down stonewalling; one of the Four Horsemen identified by John Gottman, and how it can often be a nervous system response rather than intentional disconnection. This episode walks you through how to take a healthy pause during conflict without damaging the relationship; including how to communicate that pause, use a code word when words feel hard to access, and the importance of following through to rebuild trust and emotional safety. I also share practical ways to self-regulate during conflict so you can return to the conversation from a more grounded, connected place. If you’ve ever felt pressure to resolve everything immediately, or struggled with shutting down or feeling shut out, this episode will help you navigate conflict in a way that protects both you and the relationship. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. 167: How to Make Valentine’s Day Meaningful

In this 15 minute episode, I share a gentle and grounding perspective on love just in time for Valentine’s Day. With so many people feeling financial pressure or emotional heaviness in the world right now, this conversation is an invitation to come back to what truly makes love feel meaningful. We talk about how romance isn’t about how much money you spend, but about attention, presence, and thoughtfulness. I share simple, cost-free ways to make your partner feel seen and valued, along with the importance of emotional attunement , especially during stressful or tender seasons of life. I also walk through the five love languages and how to express love in ways that truly land for your partner, not just in ways that feel natural to you. We explore the idea that healthy relationships aren’t built in one grand day of the year, but through daily intention, small moments of connection, and choosing to show up, even imperfectly. Whether you’re celebrating big, keeping it simple, or navigating a tough season, this episode is a reminder that love is built in the little things. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. 166: Responding to Injustice

In this 20 minute solo episode, I talk about the emotional weight many of us are carrying as we witness injustice in the world, focusing on the recent massacre of protestors in Iran and the renewed attention on the Epstein case. I share what has been happening in Iran, including communication blackouts, mass violence, and the deep grief and uncertainty families are living with. I name the different layers of grief people may be feeling; collective, anticipatory, and disenfranchised, especially when global acknowledgment feels limited or absent. I explore how witnessing these events can lead to secondary trauma, showing up as anger, numbness, exhaustion, or irritability, and I offer gentle nervous system regulation practices like grounding, breathwork, movement, and giving yourself permission to feel in small, contained ways. I also speak about the power of witnessing and advocacy; how amplifying accurate information, sharing stories, and refusing to look away can put pressure on systems and help protect lives. When media coverage is limited, our voices matter even more.  Throughout the episode, I emphasize emotional validation, especially in cultures where grief and anger are often minimized, and explain how acknowledging our feelings helps calm the body’s stress response. I remind listeners that their reactions make sense, that their compassion is a strength, and that we can stay engaged with the world while also caring for our own nervous systems. ♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets.
