    US, Iran to Halt Attacks; Johnson: Trump Will Sign Housing Bill | NTD Good Morning (June 29)

    The U.S. and Iran agreed to cease attacks over the control of the Strait of Hormuz, as a fragile ceasefire gets tested. President Trump posting on Truth Social on Monday, sayign that Iran has requested a meeting with the U.S. which is set to take place on Tuesday in Doha. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz also warning Iran that President Trump's ‘patience isn't going to last forever.’ House Speaker Mike Johnson says he's sending a bipartisan housing affordability bill to President Trump on Monday. Speaker Johnson said he’s spoken to the President and expects him to sign the measure into law. The legislation passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, clearing the Senate 85-5 and the House 358-32. The bill combines more than 60 proposals aimed at expanding affordable housing, increasing mortgage access and reducing regulatory barriers. Canada opening the World Cup knockout stage with a 1-0 victory over South Africa on Sunday, becoming the first nation to advance to the round of 16, with a dramatic late goal from midfielder Stephen Eustáquio. The game marked Canada's first-ever trip beyond the World Cup group stage. The remaining Round of 32 matches begin this week, with Brazil taking on Japan, Germany facing Paraguay, and the Netherlands meeting Morocco. Team USA returns to action on Wednesday in Santa Clara, California, to take on Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    NY Democrats Shift Left; Trump Pressures Oil Companies on Gas Prices | NTD Good Morning (June 24)

    All three candidates backed by New York City Zohran Mamdani won their House primary races on Tuesday, signaling a major shift to the left in New York’s Democratic Party. Meanwhile, Trump-backed Anthony Constantino won the Republican primary to replace Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in New York and is expected to win the heavily Republican district in November. In the New York governor’s race, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman will face Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul in November. President Trump has endorsed Blakeman, calling him “MAGA all the way.” President Trump is saying that oil prices are dropping, while accusing energy companies of keeping gas prices artificially high. Crude oil prices have fallen sharply following the Iran ceasefire. Meanwhile on the deal with Iran, President Trump said Iran had ‘fully and completely agreed’ to the highest level of nuclear inspections going forward. Iran says no inspection visit has been scheduled for nuclear sites struck by the United States. President Trump made a visit to Pennsylvania on Monday, to spotlight American manufacturing during a visit to Mack Trucks facility. The president thanked the workers and saying American manufacturing is experiencing a renewed growth under his administration, and highlighted his tariffs as helping domestic manufacturers compete against foreign producers. Mack Trucks says it has invested more than $400 million in upgrades and expansions at the Pennsylvania operation over the past decade.

    US-Iran Talks Postponed; President Trump Awards Medal of Honor | NTD Good Morning (June 19)

    Vice President JD Vance’s trip to Switzerland to meet with Iranian negotiators has been postponed. This comes as Israel carries out retaliation strikes in Lebanon, saying it targeted Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure. Israel says four soldiers were killed in the fighting and accused Hezbollah of repeated ceasefire violations. The U.S. military has also begun lifting its naval blockade of Iran, with Vice President Vance saying Central Command has allowed over a dozen ships through so far. President Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to three service members during a White House ceremony on Thursday. The President honored retired Marine Major James Capers Jr., Army Major Nicholas Dockery, and Marine Colonel John Ripley. The medal recognizes service members who performed acts of extraordinary heroism in combat. President Trump saying the nation owes its freedom to service members willing to face extraordinary danger in defense of the country. During the FIFA World Cup on Thursday, host country Canada defeated Qatar 6-0 in Vancouver, the country’s first ever victory in a World Cup game. In Los Angeles, Switzerland scored 4 late goals to defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1. Meanwhile, Mexican and South Korean supporters gathered together in Guadalajara ahead of their Group A showdown, with Mexico taking home the win with a score of 1-0. Team USA will be facing Australia on Friday in Seattle.
