Boss Babe Corner Ep. 18 - Ethan Allard Memorial Hockey Tournament

In 2017, the Allard family founded the Ethan Allard Memorial Hockey Fund (EAMHF) in 2017 following the tragic death of their son Ethan in a workplace accident. Ethan always had a passion for hockey and sports and the Allard’s wanted to ensure that their brother and son’s legacy carried on by helping youth across the Ottawa Valley have the ability to get involved in sports.

Although the pandemic has kiboshed plans around the annual hockey tournament, the family isn’t letting the pandemic stop them and have announced they will be holding the Ethan Allard Ball Hockey Tournament on June 4, 2022 at the Civic Centre in Petawawa!

Be sure to follow the Ethan Allard Memorial Hockey Fund on Facebook and Instagram to stay tuned for updates, donate, sponsor the tournament and get involved!

Episode #62 - Just Dig It! with Re.Planted Urban Farm

Episode #62 - Just Dig It! with Re.Planted Urban Farm

Akousa Asare was our very first guest when OVBB first launched to talk to me all about her first business, Essence Luxe Couture Wigs. She even had the opportunity to appear on Dragon’s Den AND scored herself a deal. But it was leaving her stressed and completely unmotivated. Once Akos knew it was time to shut it down and walk away, she followed her true passion of producing organic, local and sustainable farm-fresh produce and flowers. And so, Re.Planted Urban Farm was created.

We talk all about the root behind Re.Planted, composting and organic produce, her “prescription flower CSA” and why this boss babe is back in full force for 2022!

Such an incredible podcast!

Holly is vibrant, funny and overall ‘full of life’ as she hosts so many incredible entrepreneurs across the Ottawa Valley. I love the questions she asks, her genuine laugh and how real she is while speaking to some incredible guests. Her podcast provides an incredible platform and voice for so many females and each episode has some sort of empowering takeaway, even if the business itself is unrelated to yours. Worth a listen and highly recommend starting your week listening to this powerful podcast! Holly is such an incredible woman giving a voice to so many other women.

OV BossBabes

Holly’s podcasts are entertaining yet informative while chatting it up with other boss babes from all walks of life! Holly is well prepared with excellent questions based on her research of the person, the business and the topic/product/service. She makes these such fun for the interviewee and the listeners and gives everyone an eye opener of things that are both usual but interesting, or uncommon yet fun to learn about! You immediately put your guests at ease with adept ability to unravel and share their amazing stories and ask the questions everyone is thinking but too afraid to ask! Holly, you are your listeners’ voice and give your speakers a wonderful platform to not only showcase their passion but to give us a peak of what the OV has to offer in our own “backyards”! Well done🙌❤️
