Retronauts

Long time listener. There is a treasure trove of episodes to listen to. I’d highly recommend going back to the beginning and start from there. The hosts are knowledgable about all things retro gaming and the history of video games. They do their research about the topics they are going to be speaking about, and the episodes are very planned out (but can go on entertaining tangents from time to time) They also bring in a number of guests hosts (Henry Gilbert, Benj Edwards, and others) who bring in their own experiences and knowledge about the topics. Over the last while the original main hosts (Jeremy/Bob) aren’t on as many of the free episodes and tend to be on the pattern supported ones. (Which I would say is worth paying for if you are able) But they still have a good amount of hosts for the podcasts (but for the love of God, Stuart needs to stop with the constant self-deprecation and self-loathing.)

Has mostly (sometimes?) interesting episodes, hosts are fine (with the exception of Stuart Gipp, avoid at all costs). Not a podcast where you would want or need to catch every episode.

The show has been great for over a decade, but has gotten a new energy in the past couple of years with the addition of new hosts. A must listen if you love gaming.
