141: If God Said Yes, Why Do The Doors Keep Closing?

In this conversation, I talk about what it feels like to hit rejection and closed doors in your creative work, and why that moment is not a verdict on who you are. I share how easy it is to spiral after a no, a ghost, a decline, or a door that just will not open, and I reframe it like this: a closed door is information. It is feedback. It is not identity. It is not proof that you are behind, unqualified, or "not called." We also walk through how to interpret closed doors through a Kingdom lens. Sometimes a closed door is protection. Sometimes it is redirection. Sometimes it is simply timing. And instead of forcing what is not opening, I encourage you to slow down and discern. I give practical next steps for navigating rejection without collapsing into it, including trusting God's timing, using peace as a guide, and doing fruit tests to confirm whether a path is producing what it should. The goal is not to pretend rejection does not hurt. The goal is to keep your footing, stay faithful, and keep moving with wisdom. 140: The New Way to Sell Your Book: Build a Simple System That Creates Consistent Sales

In this episode, I want you to hear this clearly: stalled book sales don't mean you wrote a bad book. It usually means you don't have a clear marketing system that consistently brings new readers in and guides them toward buying. So many authors pour their whole heart into writing, then hope the book will "do the rest." But books don't sell themselves on hope. They sell when you build a simple, repeatable path that helps the right readers find you, trust you, and take the next step. Here's what I'm teaching you today: • Your book is not the whole journey. It's part of the journey. • Your job is to build the path around the book so your audience doesn't get lost. • Trust and authority come from consistent engagement, before and after your book is published. I break book marketing into three phases, because the strategy needs to match where you are: • Before publishing: build the platform, clarify the message, start the list, and create demand early • After publishing: keep momentum with consistent traffic, audience nurturing, and a clear next step • When sales are struggling: stop guessing, rebuild the system, and create a funnel that brings fresh readers in every week The biggest shift I want you to make is this: don't market the book as the product. Market the outcome your reader gets because of the book. When you position transformation, not just pages, your marketing gets clearer, your content gets easier to create, and your sales become sustainable. And yes, this applies whether you write fiction or nonfiction. Fiction authors, you're building relationship, identity, and belonging with your reader. Nonfiction authors, you're building trust, authority, and clarity around the problem you solve. Different angles, same system. If you're a published author and you want to learn the new way to sell your book with a simple funnel and a real system (without burning out on constant launches), get on my waitlist now. 139: Identity Before Assignment: Abide First, Build Second

In this conversation, we're wrestling through identity, purpose, and belonging in a way that keeps bringing us back to one core truth: our identity is not rooted in what we do, what we've built, or what we've achieved. Our identity is rooted in who we are in Christ, and who we are with Him. We're reminded that obedience is not an add-on to faith; it's the evidence of it. And the more we abide in Jesus, the more we recognize that purpose is not something we manufacture; it's something we discover in relationship. We don't find clarity by striving harder. We find clarity by staying close. As we examine Scripture, we see this pattern repeated again and again: identity precedes assignment. God doesn't hand people a calling first and hope they figure out who they are later. He establishes belonging, then He entrusts responsibility. When we understand that we belong to God, it reshapes how we make decisions, what we say yes to, and what we can finally release. Our "why" gets purified. Our motives get exposed. Our pace changes. Our ambition gets reordered under His Lordship. Ultimately, this conversation is our call back to the center: a deeper relationship with Jesus. Not using Him to fuel our goals, but yielding our goals to His leadership. Because when Jesus is Lord, we don't have to chase identity. We live from it. Because when God places a message on your life, it is not random. It is not small. It is not just "something you care about." It is an assignment. I believe this is especially true for Christian authors. Many authors are trying to sell their books using traditional methods, and they often feel discouraged when it doesn't work. Book signings, Amazon bestseller strategies, endless posting on social media, and even podcast tours can leave you exhausted with little to show for it if you do not understand what actually drives book sales today. In this episode, I walk you through the deeper issue beneath the frustration. Fear, hesitation, striving, and carrying the pressure alone. Then I show you the biblical foundation of sowing and reaping, and what it really looks like to be faithful with what God has entrusted to you, even when you are still building, still growing, and still becoming established. This is not just about "marketing." It is about obedience. It is about stewardship. It is about building with diligence and faith so the fruit of your message can multiply beyond you. What do I do outside of this podcast?  I help Christian authors sell their books by building a simple funnel that positions their message with authority and creates automated, consistent book sales. 136: How Cause and Effect Reveals How We Walk With God Pt. 1

Scripture operates on cause and effect, and that reality does not weaken God's sovereignty. It reveals it. In this episode, I explore how God intentionally designed covenant to include choice, consequence, and responsibility. From sowing and reaping to obedience and endurance, the Bible consistently shows that what we choose produces real outcomes, both in this life and in eternity. This is not because God lacks control, but because His sovereignty includes granting humanity real agency within His plan. We will talk about why forgiveness does not remove earthly consequences, why obedience is not legalism, and why faith that remains passive does not reflect the fullness of biblical faith. God is not reacting to human decisions. He authored a world where truth responds to choice. Cause and effect are evidence of God's design. God remains fully sovereign while honoring the freedom He gave us. Covenant was never about control. It was about relationship, trust, and the formation of a people who choose Him in truth and endurance. If you have wrestled with how free will, obedience, and eternal life coexist under a sovereign God, this conversation will bring clarity without compromise.     Chapters 00:00 Understanding God's Covenant and Conditions 02:31 The Role of Choice in Obedience 05:05 Sowing and Reaping: The Principle of Consequences 07:58 Faith, Works, and Obedience 10:20 Endurance and the Promise of Eternal Life

135: The Bitterness of the Soul: Why God Is Not Afraid of Your Pain

Scripture speaks often about the bitterness of the soul, yet modern Christianity rarely knows what to do with it. In Episode 135, I take you into the Word to show why bitterness of soul is not sinful, rebellious, or faithless but deeply biblical, honest, and often the very place where God meets His people. From Hannah, to Job, to David, we see a pattern: God does not reject the bitter soul; He invites it. I unpack what Scripture actually means when it speaks of bitterness, anguish, and deep distress, and why pouring out a bitter soul before the Lord is not complaining — it's consecration. It's the language of those who refuse to pretend, numb, or spiritually bypass their pain. This episode is especially for the believer who has been told to "just be grateful," "stay positive," or "speak life" when what your soul actually needs is permission to be honest before God. Because bitterness of soul, when brought to the Lord, does not harden the heart — it softens it. And if you're a Christian author or writer carrying a message forged in suffering, this episode will help you understand why your story, your voice, and your obedience matter — and how God often births impact and calling from places the world labels as weakness. God is not offended by your bitterness. He draws near to it.
