Concert Catch-up: Five Finger Death Punch, Eva Under Fire, Black Veil Brides, Caskets, Saint Agnes, and more!

This week, we're scratching The Itch to clear the slate! September is full of live music for The Itch, and we're starting strong with a Concert Catch-up that takes us (and some friends) to some very ... uncharted territory. First, KC and Dan cheer on our friends Eva Under Fire as they continue leveling up, opening for Five Finger Death Punch on a huge amphitheater tour that includes a stop in St. Louis. Then, Aaron checks out a new favorite in Saint Agnes as they support Finland's The Rasmus on their first ever US headlining run. And finally, Dan and KC catch a concert and a comedy show as Black Veil Brides hits our hometown alongside Caskets, Archers, and Holy Wars. It's another episode of firsts, as Aaron experiences a highly unusual stage setup and KC and Dan get their best Riverport seats yet. Plus, the dirtiest story in the history of the podcast, and another edition of Itch Etiquette, and it's not from who you'd expect! Enjoy. Elias Soriano of Nonpoint on Staying Hungry and Having More to Say on The Last Word

Read transcript This week, we're scratching The Itch to have The Last Word! Or at least to have the man saying that word as our guest. Elias Soriano of Nonpoint joins us to talk about the band's new album and why he considers it the best work they've ever done. Elias is as real as they come, so this is no platitude. And The Itch had a very unique opportunity to hear the album for ourselves... and we don't think he's wrong. We also talk about how the band successfully defies the "legacy act" title 30 years into their career, the chemistry Elias has on the mic with Skye Sweetnam of Sumo Cyco, and how he never stops trying to challenge himself as a vocalist. Plus, The Itch gets to the bottom of guitarist Jason Zeilstra's decision to cut his locks, learns about a few exciting guests planned for the album's deluxe edition, and has our minds blown when we learn that "dread notes" are a real thing. This one's been a long time coming. Enjoy. For the rest of our Nonpoint interviews, check out the following: Jason and Robb pt 1, Jason and Robb pt 2, Jason solo, Francesca Ludikar, Jason and Rasheed, Jason and Adam Listen to The Itch Rock Radio Show Rock with us every Sunday night from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM in St. Louis. Bear McCreary on Great Movie Trailers, the Art of Collaboration, and Making Time for What You Love

This week, we're scratching The Itch to get cinematic! Our guest, Bear McCreary, is the man responsible for scores of scores for films, shows, and games. He created music for The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Black Sails, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, God of War, and literally 100 other projects. And somewhere in all that work, he also found time to assemble an all-star team of collaborators for his own metal albums, 2024's The Singularity and this year's The Singularity: Ekleipsis. The list of rock and metal royalty he's worked with includes Joe Duplantier of Gojira, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria, Slash, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Stewart Copeland of The Police... and those are just a few from the new album! We had a blast talking with Bear about his successes and failures, his pinch-me moments, his favorite movie trailers, and just how he manages to balance family life and the creative projects he's constantly challenging himself with. He's full of insight, introspection, and great stories. You're gonna dig this one. Enjoy. Listen to The Itch Rock Radio Show Rock with us every Sunday night from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM in St. Louis. Concert Catch-up: Ecca Vandal, Scattrbrain, Momma, DED, Dropout Kings, VRSTY, dead7, and more!

This week, we're scratching The Itch for festivals ... sort of. Aaron didn't attend Lollapalooza, but he did check two artists off his wish list by seeing Ecca Vandal's Lolla Aftershow with Scattrbrain and Momma's Q101 Lounge-a-Palooza set. Meanwhile, Dan and KC caught a show stacked with past Itch guests as DED, Dropout Kings, VRSTY, dead7, and Omissions took over Pops, with our friend Retro Champ in attendance. How did Joey Varela's new VRSTY lineup sound? How have Dropout Kings adjusted to a live show without the late Adam Ramey? How did Ecca Vandal cement herself as Aaron's favorite artist of 2026, and Joe Cotela of DED cement himself as the most helpful? And exactly how much mouth bling will be mentioned in this episode? All of these hows and more will be answered! Enjoy. Listen to The Itch Rock Radio Show Rock with us every Sunday night from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM in St. Louis. Outside the area? Des Rocs on Writing the Theme to Borderlands 4, Embracing Imperfection, and Making Albums in the Age of TikTok

This week, we're scratching The Itch for a triumphant return! Des Rocs first appeared on The Itch over four years ago to discuss his debut album A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place. Since then, he's toured the world, dropped his excellent second album Dream Machine, and even sailed the seas on Shiprocked. And we've covered his live show on the podcast at least half a dozen times. Now he's back with his third album, To Hell and Back, and we were well overdue for a proper catch-up. Though we wish we could've had him back sooner, the long gap between conversations gave us the opportunity to dive deep wit Des on how he's changed as a person and a performer over the years on a journey that may not have taken him to hell, but has taken him from dingy recording spaces all the way to placement on massive TV programs and video games. And as always, Des is a man of rock and roll principles, so we had to dig into his dedication to releasing full albums in the age of TikTok singles, as well as his belief that if you've gotta play the social media game, you might as well poke the bear a bit while you're at it. Enjoy. Listen to The Itch Rock Radio Show Rock with us every Sunday night from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM in St. Louis. Outside the area? King Falcon on Vintage Guitars, Their Rejected Hit, and Evolving Beyond Their Blues Rock Roots

This week, we're scratching The Itch to Bloom... and so are our guests! Mike, Joe, and Dip of King Falcon join us in this episode ahead of the release of their new EP and man, do they have some stories and some spicy hot takes. Coming to us live from a freshly repaired van parked off a highway exit mid-tour, the guys had plenty to share about their journey, which has led them from a label to independence, a blues rock style to a broader indie alternative sound, and once... into a head-on collision with a hot tub? Plus, The Itch learns exactly how long it takes to listen to Delta Sleep's entire discography, who vintage guitar collector Mike considers the most overrated guitarist of all time, and the dangers of getting high with your dad. This one's a doozy, and you're gonna love it. Enjoy. Listen to The Itch Rock Radio Show Rock with us every Sunday night from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM in St. Louis. Outside the area? Dylan Turner and Megan Kane of Parker Barrow Hold the Mash and Hit the Road With Southern Rock Spirit

This week, we're scratching The Itch for some Southern spirit! Dylan Turner and Megan Kane of Parker Barrow Hold the Mash on their new album because, well, you don't really need it when you've got so many bangers. The adorable couple behind the band joins us to talk about how their love of bands like The Black Crowes inspires their music, how solidifying their lineup evolved their creative process, and how they keep both their marriage and their connection to their church community going strong while spending so much time touring. Plus, The Itch gets to shout out our mutual friends The Hook Rocks, All Things Blues & Southern Rock, and My Weekly Mixtape (check out Parker Barrow's appearances on all three shows), and Dylan and Megan give us the scoop on some of the best food stops in the UK! Concert Catch-up: The First Show of Father of Peace

This week, we're scratching The Itch for a beginning! For the past couple of years, Father of Peace has been amassing a following across social media with their quirky songs, styles, and videos. Now, the trio of Avshalom Ariel, Tom Bolllig, and May Alpert have finally taken their music on the road... and across the world. After collectively moving from Israel to Los Angeles, they announced not only their first tour, but their first shows ever. And before most of the dates sold out, Aaron just happened to snag tickets to the very first one at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, where he came back with tales of charming merch, a fully invested crowd, and how apparently we're all now part of a band. Where our previous episode explored what it's like for a band to end well, this one completes the circle of life by discussing what it's like to navigate the music scene as a new band, where expectations can feel impossible and skepticism can feel inescapable. But a spoiler alert for this act: The hype is real, and the future is bright. Hello, Father of Peace. Welcome to the world. Enjoy.
