SciShow Tangents is the lightly competitive knowledge showcase from the geniuses behind the YouTube series SciShow. Every Tuesday, join Hank Green, Ceri Riley, Stefan Chin, and Sam Schultz as they try to one-up and amaze each other with weird and funny scientific research... while not getting distracted. There will be tangents about video games, music, weird smells, surprisingly deep insights about life, and of course, poop, but it always comes back to the science.

Love this
Hilarity + curiosity-driven learning + light fun and games = an awesome podcast. I spent 4 hours listening to it the day I discovered it, and I don’t normally listen to science podcasts. My favourite part has got to be the poems. Topic ideas for seasons 2 (or even 3) are: carbon dating, parenting, alcohol, and smells.
Hell Yeah
This is iconic. An awesome sequel to HFS! I have nothing bad to say about this. A suggestion I have for an episode is about homosexuality throughout different animal species. I thought it would be an interesting idea after Hank posted the TikTok about girafe homosexuality (which got taken down). Anyways, no bad feedback! Love Ceri, Hank, Stephen and Sam :)
My favourite podcast and one that I always recommend!
This is my favourite podcast, hands down. I was sad when HFS was finished but this was a delightful and very professional replacement. I adore the structure and the competitive edge, while also the fact that all the presenters are absolutely wonderful. My favourite part is always the science poems and I find myself going back to my favourite episodes just to listen to them. Ceri’s poems make me just stop in appreciation. They’re so clever and fun and are a delight. I have grown to really love Stefan’s poems. The slant rhymes and fun analogies have made the poems endlessly interesting. Sam’s poems bring me so much joy, especially the ones that he was inspired by in the shower. It makes you really feel how much thought and excitement goes into this. Hank’s poems are so fun and have come such a long way from the limericks (which were also fun in their charming ways).
I adore this podcast and my friends and I play along by syncing up our listening every week. I can not recommend it enough!
If you’re still taking topic suggestions, I’d love to hear about flowers or anything Physics related!
