    Karen Nyberg - "I Did It - I'm Here"

    Join us as we reunite with one of our guests from Season 1, or to be more specific…70 episodes ago. We catch up with Dr. Karen Nyberg a retired astronaut who is currently pursuing interests in textile art and design - and the areas of conservation and sustainability.

    As a reminder, Karen received her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and graduate degrees, also in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. She was selected as a member of the NASA Astronaut Corps in 2000 and as the 50th woman in space made her first trip to space aboard Space Shuttle Discovery in 2008, during the height of International Space Station (ISS) construction. On her second spaceflight in 2013, Karen launched on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft and lived and worked at ISS for 166 days.
    During this time, she became the first person to create with sewing in space!
