63. Average is the Enemy - feat. Former NFL'er Shawn Harper
If you're in need of a little boost of motivation... You're gonna want to listen to this one,
He's a former 7 year NFL Player, he was featured on the MTV show "Made" and now travels the world training teams, building leadership and transforming corporate environments.
We not only get into his NFL career and his appearance on MTV's Made, but dig into what it means to "win". And how he thinks the traditional concept of winning where one individual comes out ahead of the other may not be an accurate depiction.
We get into how "being a man" means incorporating BOTH the primal masculine drive present in us along with a connection to our heart. That this is where the magic is.
And how "Average is the Enemy" and how we can avoid languishing in mediocrity in life.

61. Thrive Through Adversity, Man - feat. Elijah Stacy
Our guest today has a fricken amazing story and an inspiring mission.
We've got Elijah Stacy, author of the book “A Small If”, and Founder of the nonprofit Destroy Duchenne, which he started at age 15 to advance gene editing and gene therapy to save his life, his brothers life and thousands of others around the world from DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), a muscle wasting disease that primarily affects kids.
We talk all of the things that Elijah has learned from his journey battling this disease and spreading his story (thus far).
We talk about how his "adapters mindset" has been huge in getting him to this point. The power of being a little bit stubborn in life. And how to stay hopeful and strong, even through extreme adversity.

60. Removing the Masks & Shifting Perspective - feat. Doug Cartwright
“To become the person you truly are, you have to let go of you think you are supposed to be"
Doug Cartwright is a speaker, author (of the book Holy Sh!t We're Alive), and CEO and Founder of The Daily Shifts.
Doug takes us through his journey from being a twenty something, ex-morman, ex-millionaire living deeply unfulfilled who had done everything he was “supposed” to do. He was living a lavish life, VIP bottle service with Drake, hanging out with Kevin Durant in a suite at the Superbowl, before realizing that the only reason he was doing all of these things was to receive validation on social media, and that none of it was actually contributing to lasting happiness.
That was until he (re)found his true essence and dropped all of the masks, labels and stories.
How psychedelics acted as a gateway drug into self-love for Doug.
How there is nothing inherently wrong with wanting Instagram likes, but the issue comes when you NEED the instragram likes.
How there is no right path for anyone on the healing journey, but it’s all about finding what is right for you (whether that is mediation, working with a coach/therapist, going on an ayahuasca journey etc.)
The power of an attitude of gratitude in settling you in the moment that you are in instead of having you thinking about a moment you WISH you were in
Doug’s (funny) story about an experience getting over his “fear of sucking” on the ski hill.
Thanks for slowing down with us.

59. Exploration of the Self & Seeking the Uncomfortable - feat. Mickey Graglia
Michele (Mickey) Graglia is a former top model and is currently one of the world's top ultra runners. Since 2011, he has competed in over thirty ultramarathons all over the world, often winning and setting course records.
He has set Guinness World Records for his runs across the Atacama and Gobi deserts. His wins in the Yukon Arctic Ultra, with temperatures below -40ºF, and the Badwater 135 in Death Valley, with highs above 130ºF, made him the first person in history to win both the hottest and coldest foot races on Earth.
Michele gets into how dropping out of the mind and into the body/heart (through mindfulness) has been the key for his success in ultra running, regardless of the environment he is competing in.
The power of continual exploration of ourselves, our potential and seeking out the uncomfortable. All in an effort of living fully. Which all starts with simply opening the mind to what is possible.
Michele takes us through his (wild) journey of being a top model, living a lavish lifestyle in Miami, but not feeling fulfilled. To later finding ultra running (his true calling) and building an incredibly successful athletic career.
So f**^&* good.
