Smoke Hole Sessions
Author and master storyteller Martin Shaw brings us the Smoke Hole Sessions – a series of vital conversations with inspirational people, in the hope that in the crackle of the thinking, the fire of the language, the visioning and the wildness of the exchanges, we may find breadcrumbs that lead us out of the forest again, and into a deeper life. Inspired by his new book Smoke Hole, Martin speaks to some of today’s most admired writers, musicians, comedians, activists and more about their own work and what the last year has meant to them.

A Path Where There Is No Path

My second time through the Smoke Hole conversations. If I didn’t know better I’d almost think Martin is prepping credible ground for the unthinkable comeback of agenda-pummelled sacred stories (i.e. ancient God-oriented narratives). Fingers crossed.
So refreshing

I appreciate the sane and grounded pace, and thoughtful heartening conversation. Thanks!
Glorious medicine

Such a delicious series, has been the perfect medicine for this weird time of emerging from the bunkers and sniffing the air. It’s kind of a master class in how to have a conversation… and how story and myth weaves in and out in just the right amount… just what I needed.
Martin Shaw Podcast = Storyteller’s Dream
2021-05-28
To hear Martin Shaw tells stories is a wonder. To hear Martin Shaw, off stage, sitting around a fire, interviewing people he admires in conversation? Another kind of wonder. His selection of guests and his immensely courteous yet casual style seems to draw out the best in his guests. I’m so glad this podcast is in the world.
