The Healthy Breast Movement! Kathryn Speer had a breast health scare. One day she woke up with her left breast feeling like it was on fire. Now she is on a mission to help women have healthy breasts.
We chat about:
✔️ her personal health story
✔️ what is thermography
✔️ reduce the fear around breast health
✔️ get your breast moving and out of under wire bras
✔️ what to do and not to do when it comes to breast health.
✔️ the power of a rebounder
✔️ saggy and perky breasts
About Kathryn Speer:
We are a team comprised of dedicated health care providers, technologists and visionaries who understand that risk assessment and prevention is the key to providing quality health care.
My Mission: To transform our statistics & women's fear of breast cancer into the empowerment of prevention through risk assessment, education, knowledge & fun.
My decision to become a Certified Clinical Thermographic Technician & Manager was based on my own personal experience with health issues as it related to my breasts. I have experienced first hand the frustration of not knowing what was happening in my own body and the inability to heal myself as a result of the information I had available to me at the time. This journey led me on a passionate search for answers and a methodology to take back the power in my own healing. In addition, I have lost loved ones to cancer & watched some of my closest friends endure the battle to fighting cancer that may have been prevented by early detection of the disease & physiological changes in the body.
After a successful career spanning over 19 years in Corporate Business, I made the decision to shift my focus and pursue a career in a field that utilizes this life saving technology. Making a difference in the lives of people is & always has been my passion and life long pursuit.
In addition to being partnered with some of the world's most respected, experienced Dr's & Thermologists in the field of clinical health, I am excited to create a lasting & far reaching lifestyle movement of Breast Cancer prevention here in the Atlantic Provinces.

EP 171: Find Yourself Through Creativity with Deanne Fitzpatrick
Deanne Fitzpatrick is a rug hooking artist with a soulful story. She started her career as a therapist, but eventually found the art of rug hooking which became a method of self-expression. After 30 years in business, we chat about her journey including re-invention, creativity, growth and finding yourself. Grab a warm beverage and settle for some encouragement, creativity and beauty.
About Deanne Fitzpatrick:
Deanne Fitzpatrick makes one of a kind hooked rugs out of yarn and wool cloth, following the same tradition as her mother and both her grandmothers. Within a year of beginning to hook rugs, she began to see it as an art form – a method of self-expression – and has successfully pursued solo exhibits in public galleries and the inclusion of her work in major permanent collections. From the very beginning, she saw that this traditional handwork of Atlantic Canadian women had potential as an art form and sought to have it recognized as such.
Deanne has written eight books and illustrated one book. Writing is a big part of her practice as an artist and has been an important part of her ability to help revive the craft of rug hooking throughout North America.
Her work is a reflection on love and memory, landscape and nature. Deanne uses wool cloth and yarn to hook original designs onto a linen foundation. Each rug is hooked by hand, one loop at a time. Deanne describes her time at the frame as meditative and creative time that lets her steep and grow new ideas for her work. One rug leads to another, just as within each rug one colour leads to another.
Deanne has built a 30-year career as an artist and created a strong following for her work. Each week, she writes a newsletter to more than 20,000 followers about art, life and creativity. Sharing her writing in her books, newsletters, and podcast is an important part of her creative process of making hooked rugs.
