How COVID has Impacted Clinical: Episode 177
Recently I asked the students in my Thriving Nursing Students Facebook group how COVID has affected clinical, their feelings toward clinical, and their outlook on their chosen profession.
The results were eye-opening, inspiring, and yes, heartbreaking at times. In this episode I’m discussing the general themes and offering some insight and advice that I hope helps you feel better about your clinical experience, even with it changing so much due to the pandemic.
Many of you have said you’re afraid you’ll be terrible nurses because your clinical hours have been so limited, and I just want you to know that you will NOT be terrible nurses. You are going to be some of the most resilient, resourceful and driven RNs to enter the workforce and I, for one, completely and totally believe in you.

Have you tried a PodQuiz before? If not, you are in for a treat! PodQuizzes are a great way to study using auditory learning that’s not just passive listening..it’s active and super engaged. Here’s how it works...I ask a question and then pause to give you time to think of and say the answer. Then, I tell you the answer. It’s essentially flashcards for your ears! Cue the confetti, folks!

Great for review AND learning!
I’m a nursing student in my final preceptorship in a rural hospital setting. Because I get both acute care and ER experience, I need to be prepared for almost anything! In my 40 minute drive to the hospital, I like to listen to one of Nurse Mo’s podcasts because it really helps to mobilize my nurse brain and get me in the right headspace for my shift to begin. On top of this, it helps me to learn something new while on the go! Thankful for Nurse Mo and all the work she puts into her clear, concise, and informative lecturing!
