#87 - The Art of Humiliation, Ethical Domination and Slavework w/ Miss Quail Avara

#87 - The Art of Humiliation, Ethical Domination and Slavework w/ Miss Quail Avara

Because you all LOVE learning about dominatrices and the kink and fetish life, I just had to bring another one on this week! I am so excited to bring on Miss Quail Avara onto the show this week. She is a dominatrix hailing from Georgia, USA who I had the opportunity to connect with over a recent episode that was recorded previously. We speak about about virtual domming, busting myths about what we stereotypically know about doms, and at what point does domming cross the line. We also learn about what is expected out of a responsible dom and how it goes hand-in-hand with fetish and kink work. We also delightfully discuss how her and her “husboy” met (who I mention was her former slave!), how that relationship grew and what the past and current slave/dom dynamics work in her household. Last but not least, Quail doesn’t hold back on her hate for OnlyFans and expresses her love for AVN Stars. Amidst everything that’s been going on, it sounds like a great option if you haven’t diversified already!

#86 – Livestreaming on Twitch: Talking Influencers, Affiliate Status and Growing Your Brand w/ Chloe

#86 – Livestreaming on Twitch: Talking Influencers, Affiliate Status and Growing Your Brand w/ Chloe

So excited to bring on my friend, Chloe, who I’ve seen just SKYROCKET over the pandemic on the livestreaming platform, Twitch. We learn about her story, how she got started, and how playing videogames became her new gig. Her transformation from gamer to lifestyle streamer has been an admirable journey. Chloe, or as her fans like to call her, “Coco”, has catapulted her livestreaming career on the platform and has reached Affiliate status. So how does this all play into sex work? Well, we discuss the similarities of camming and livestreaming, the type of content she creates in her livestreams, giving into fan requests, collaborating with other creators, and dealing with problematic viewers. Fair warning – Twitch has very strict rules when it comes to nudity and sexual content and Chloe explains it all in detail so you don’t have to.  Ever thinking about getting into camwork but want an alternative? If it fits your brand, this might be the platform for you to dabble in. Listen in to this super fun episode and let me know your thoughts on it!

#85 - Can Romance Emerge from Client-Provider Relationships? w/ Drew

#85 - Can Romance Emerge from Client-Provider Relationships? w/ Drew

This week we’re taking a bit of a turn and throwing a different perspective on things. This week we talk all about relationships, specifically romantic and friendly ones that may sometimes transpire naturally in sex work. Because our work is intensely intimate, it may be a natural occurrence for certain relationships to foster: friendships, romantic, or otherwise.

I speak with a client who goes by the name of Drew, to join me on the podcast this week. Drew, a client based in Vancouver, Canada, shares with us his experiences with companions. He has been seeing sex workers for a few years now whom have celebrated and partook in milestone moments in his life. Over the course of these years, Drew has dated two escorts in his past. When he retold his story to me, it’s clear that there was some manipulation and deception in these relationships. It’s interesting because some may say that yes, this is our business and not to cross lines which is totally fine with me, but to clearly lead people on? That’s not how I personally conduct my business but some people do maintain that clear boundary which begs the question: can real relationships grow from transactional ones? We dig deeper into this conversation and I invited the audience to share their opinions and believe me, it wasn’t as one-sided as you might think! Listen to this episode with an open mind – it might broaden your perspective!

    #84 - A Not-so-Cryptic Take on Cryptocurrency and Cybersecurity w/ Paul Jones of Natterish.com

    #84 - A Not-so-Cryptic Take on Cryptocurrency and Cybersecurity w/ Paul Jones of Natterish.com

Whew, last week was a doozy! Back to your regular scheduled programming which was so on-point amidst all of the recent controversy with OnlyFans lately (considering I pre-recorded this episode a week before the fiasco even went down!). I speak with Paul Jones, a veteran sex worker based in London, the UK, of natterish.com and badbutlerxxx.com about protecting your online identity and safety through various fintech apps, website creation and maintenance and wading into the territory of cryptocurrency. Paul, who has built sex worker-friendly platforms and websites for decades, speaks to us about what to look out for when you are building your own personalized website for sex work, being mindful of what legislation you would fall under, how to accept payment, types of payment that is best for sex workers and more. Because there has been so much rising interest within the realm of cryptocurrency in the past few years, we also chat about that as well from a perspective of what crypto platforms (and for the sake of this episode, we speak mainly in regards to Bitcoin) are out there, what’s available for sex workers and clients to use, a brief understanding and explanation of how it works and what scams to avoid. Honestly, I’ll probably have to do a future episode breaking it down even further past this overview but Paul provided a great explanation (which I’m still wrapping my head around!) on how this may be a viable option for sex workers in protecting your money.

PS. Paul is offering an amazing promotion now for sex workers in the industry that if you need a website, he will build it and you PAY NOTHING until January 2022. Tell him I sent you!

    BONUS - RIP OnlyFans

    BONUS - RIP OnlyFans

RIP OnlyFans. It was bound to happen, sooner or later.

It's just me this week for an early and emergency-style BONUS episode. If you’ve been living under a rock lately or have been disconnected over the past 48 hours, you might be surprised to hear of the new changes to OnlyFans’ Acceptable Use Policy coming into effect on October 1st, 2021. On Thursday, August 19, 2021, OnlyFans announced that they were to be banning sexually explicit content from their platform. What does this exactly entail? Who’s affected by it? What other platforms can sex workers move onto? I answer all of these questions and address all of the major concerns surrounding the platform, including the motivations behind it including pressure from big banks and payment processors, OnlyFans cleansing its “porn” reputation, its new verification process, and so much more.

*Please note that I recorded this episode earlier this afternoon on Friday, August 20th and once I finished recorded, checked my email and saw that OnlyFans has, indeed, confirmed the changes in a statement. My in-real-time reaction can be listened to at the 46:00-minute mark which further confirmed my suspicious which were raised earlier in the episode.

A list of some other SW-friendly (as of 2021) platforms:

    AVN Stars
    MFC
    Chaturbate
    ManyVids
    Clips4Sale
    Fansly
    Just for Fans
    FanCentro
    Admire Me

#83 - Costuming and Cosplay: Sewing Along Craftmanship, Creativity and Fetishization w/ Serena Rayne

#83 - Costuming and Cosplay: Sewing Along Craftmanship, Creativity and Fetishization w/ Serena Rayne

Sooo excited about this episode! We all know how much fun it is to be on stage (or maybe you don’t do stage) or atleast how fun it is to play dress up in our respective lines of work. Whether it's dainty lingerie, something silky and sultry, or maybe it's campy, there is always an artist behind the outfit. This week, I bring on Alberta-based dancer, Serena Rayne, to speak abut her love for anime (Japanese animation), cosplay, and sewing. Because we were (and are) anime geeks, we gush about our favourite shows, what we grow up with and how it influenced us. Anime played a major role in Serena's life which led her to working at fellow princess parties and later, channeling those costumes on stage as a stripper. Serena now creates all of her costumes from scratch which is super impressive since she is completely self-taught! But can a white woman playing dress up be equally as harmful, opposite of the fantasy they are portraying? Because some costumes are dangerously close to emanating culture, traditions and bear cultural significance, we just had to speak about appropriation and the fetishization of costumes and how that may further perpetuate negative stereotypes about certain races, genders and so on. Even if you aren't an anime lover, tune in because Serena provides so much great insight on all of these topics as mentioned above!

Interesting guests uncovering traditionally “taboo” subjects on sex. The host is pretty hot too.

So much fun!

This is such a fresh take! As someone who is miles away from this industry it’s great fun to learn about.
