Finding Your Purpose

Wow, what a refreshingly real podcast this was. It's a rare thing to hear a man today describe so artfully and so vividly the experience that Dante spoke of in the Commedia, viz. that of being lost, 'nel mezzo del camino', with no direction at midlife. I found myself hooked by that immediately as well as by David's utter candour about what who he was he first started Ageist magazine ("I knew nothing") and what was involved in bringing it to life ("I failed constantly"). I love the real joy and exuberance in his voice and the way that pairs with his relentless commitment to being honest. The effect is charming, and turns an ordinary Phoenix tale into a carnival ride you're not sure you want to end. Listen to this several times, first for the words, then for the music behind them.
