Introducing Taking Up Space; a podcast by BIPOC, for BIPOC 🤎
We have noticed a theme, through our lived experiences, that many racialized folks can struggle with taking up space. Many of us have been conditioned by colonialism and white supremacy to shrink ourselves, water ourselves down, conform, assimilate, stay silent, carry shame, and put the needs of others above our own to not inconvenience anyone.
We hope to represent racialized people being their authentic selves, claiming a seat at the table, and being seen and heard in the fullness of our experiences.

Episode 5: BIPOC in the Workplace
This week on Taking Up Space, join Reena, Rehana and one of our clinicians at the BIPOC Healing and Wellness Centre, JeeHye Choi, as we discuss BIPOC experiences in the workplace.
We expand upon the need for BIPOC spaces as we share stories and dive into challenges we have faced and that some BIPOC may face in workplaces, including workplace racism. As always, we hope you enjoy!

This week on Taking Up Space, Reena, Rehana, and Crystal discuss ways to navigate imposter syndrome as racialized people in the short term and long term. We also begin a discussion around claiming BIPOC spaces and how that relates to imposter syndrome.
