    Episode 200: Jarrett Stevens

We seem to have fallen into a pretty cool theme of prayer lately, and today is going to help us with that for sure. Whether you are new to prayer or have spent lots of time doing it already, Jarrett Stevens has some amazing thoughts and challenges for us. This one conversation has already pretty massively affected my prayer life. His new book Praying Through would be a great resource for anyone thinking of growing or changing their prayer habits.

Episode 198: Tauren Wells + Citizen of Heaven

One of my favorite parts of this pod life is sharing music that I absolutely love, and Tauren Wells is at the tip top of that list. I love that his new song Citizen of Heaven is our intro and outro music and the album by the same name is coming out next week. Chatting with Tauren about theology and friendship and marriage and how to read the Bible... gracious this one is gold from start to finish. Make sure you grab a copy of his new album to play as quick as possible!

The best podcast out there!

There are 4 things that will happen every time you listen to an episode of this podcast:

1. You will laugh. Annie’s laugh is infectious, she has an incredible ability to get great stories out of her guests, and is so relatable.
2. You will cry. Annie doesn’t skirt around the hard stuff (even though she’s a 7!) or the deep stuff. And sometimes you will cry from laughing too hard!
3. You’ll pause it at least once to go “woah, that was a good word”.
4. You will finish the episode and go into your day and life inspired to love God more and love others better.

Annie will become a friend and a voice you trust to speak truth in love.

Authentic and real!

It feels like I am talking to a friend when I listen to Annie’s podcast. She speaks truth and is not afraid to be real. Thank you, Annie! I’m a fan!

Annie said we are friends ;)

I started listening to Annie’s “That Sounds Fun” podcast almost 2 years ago after hearing her on someone else’s show.

It goes without saying that Annie’s *fun/7* side shines through gloriously on her show. I love, love laughing with Annie. ☺️

But what I love, love, LOVE about Annie is the vulnerability with which she shares parts of her own story along the way. It feels like she is building a genuine friendship, not only with her guests, but also with her listeners.

Annie navigates the “personal sharing” zone brilliantly; with humour, humility, and discernment. She manages to share her heart without crossing the line into *too much*. Ready and willing to “go there”, Annie always finds a way to beautifully point the listener away from pain and back to the source of true comfort & healing — Jesus.

So what I’m saying is this: listening to Annie’s podcast feels a lot like a great conversation with a trusted (christian) friend. [Parentheses around the word because this is not a show only for followers of Christ].

A conversation with Annie typically runs the gamut between laughter and tears, dreams and fears. She is an intuitive listener whose desire to make an honest connection with each guest shines through.

Bonus: Annie’s enthusiasm and fresh-faced curiosity about just about everything in life really resonates with me personally.

All of this being said, last Fall, I was sooooo excited when I learned that Annie was going to be speaking at a Women’s Conference about an hour from where I live, in New Brunswick, Canada.

*In person* Annie did not disappoint. Her messages were like her show, but “next level”, and with no guest. She had such a great Word for my soul that weekend.

I’ll close with this:

At the conference, I was sitting in the front row, centre. Annie was sitting in the front row of the section to my left before speaking.

I decided to pop over, say Hi, and ask her to sign the front of my “100 Days To Brave” book. I said something like, “If we lived in the same town, I feel like we would be friends”, to which Annie replied, “Girl, we ARE friends”.

In a nutshell, those 4 words pretty much sum up what I’ve attempted to express in this review of the “That Sounds Fun” podcast.
