Tom Girardi and Erika Jayne: Case Update Part I
Following the documentary, The Housewife and the Hustler, we thought it would be helpful to revisit the Girardi cases and answer some outstanding legal questions. We took a list of the top questions we’ve received and answered them in a two-part case update. This first part discusses the timeline of events up through January 2021 and answers when we think Erika first learned of the cases, if a divorce can protect assets and what spousal privilege, freezing assets, and conservatorships are.
Jen Shah Fraud: The Pre-trial Motions
In this episode we discuss the arguments Jen Shah's defense counsel made in their pre-trial motions filed on June 14. The motions provide us a peek into what her counsel might argue should the case go to trial and snippets of the evidence exchanged thus far in the case. We summarize and discuss it all!
Episode edit: Defense counsel submitted 14 exhibits in support of their motions. We also stated one search warrant at issue was for one of Shah's phone numbers but it was two phone numbers.
Life's a divorce, an arrest, and a cabaret: Luann de Lesseps
In this episode we discuss the events leading up to Luann de Lesseps' arrest where she faced three separate felony charges. We explain what the charges ultimately were, how she avoided jail time, and the conditions of her probation. We then discuss the summer before her probation commenced, during which, in her quest to purchase a home in upstate New York, she was sued by her ex-husband and two children for failing to abide by the terms of her divorce settlement.
Jersey vs. Girardi: Disbarred
In this episode we visit The Real Housewives of New Jersey and give you a detailed explanation of exactly why and how Dolores' ex-husband, Big Frank, was disbarred, and then head over to California and explain why Tom Girardi, former husband on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, still only has disciplinary charges. You will learn more than you ever wanted to know about riparian water rights and escrow accounts, and get the details on how attorney oversight and discipline is supposed to work.
I didn’t know how much I needed this
THANK YOU!!!!!! This podcast makes me so happy. My only complaint is that waiting two weeks between episodes feels like a long time when they are such amazing episodes... that said, I have no idea how these incredible ladies manage to work full time jobs as lawyers, watch bravo, AND create this amazing content... huge ka-doos (Ramona version of kudos) to you both and thank you thank you thank you.
Good breakdown of RH legal cases
I saw this podcast mentionned on an online forum and gave it a try. I really enjoy it. I like when lawyers break down real cases, and this is different than the usual real crime ones because it focuses on real housewives legal cases. It’s such a niche area, i hope they’ll be able to sustain it (i assume they’ll eventually branch off and cover more general celebrity cases).
Kudos to all the lawyers who do podcasts (plus the hours of research each episode requires) on top of their regular law profession.
Perfectly Timed and Executed
The timing for this podcast could not be more perfect! The actual podcast is excellent and the perfect match for this legally minded Bravoholic!
