    Mexico City - Round 20

This race happens on the day of the dead weekend aka Dia de los muertos Which means that there is already a supercharged magical atmosphere all over Mexico The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is a 4.304 km (2.674 mi) motorsport race track in Mexico City, Mexico and it’s an older track than you’d think, being built in 1959 Originally the idea of father Pedro Rodriguez Sr, the circuit later Named after two of Mexico's racing drivers from the 50s and 60s who just happen to be his sons, Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez (the name of the circuit means the autodrome of the Rodríguez brothers. It must have been quite a scene because at the first race hosted at the circuit a year later in 1960 was won by hometown hero Pedro Rodriguez and then sadly a two years later his brother Ricardo died during a practice session. When Pedro met his untimely at Nuremberg in 1971 the circuit was quickly renamed in their honour.  Much like weather can, The alititude plays as part at this circuit which is located at an elevation of 2,2km or (7,300 ft); The first few times I went to MC I thought I was coming down with a flu until I realized that it was symptoms of altitude sickness so undoubtedly I can show up as an issue for some drivers. And since aerodynamics plays a primary role in F1 speed, the thin air affects the cars because of reduced aerodynamic drag. The extremely fast final turn 17 aka Peraltada, before the long start/finish straight, has a Monza like feel  The lap finishes with a trip through the Foro Sol stadium where the sound of the crowd can often drown out the cars.  Hosted on Acast.
