Welcome to The NDK Podcast, hosted by Nathan and Dana. Two long time friends from a small town in Canada. We get together, have some drinks and shoot the shit by sharing our unique perspectives and experiences. Each episode we will have candid conversations, story telling and lots of laughs! We will get into different topics from old stories and small town life, to current events and what we are into now. Just seeing how she goes, we may even bring on a guest or two someday.     Adulting Sucks Sometimes

    📢 SHOUT OUT 📢 We are starting out the episode with some shout outs to good drivers and the sun! Dana’s got a confession… a brain fart she’s pretty embarrassed about. One of the songs from her beloved City and Colour was used as an alarm clock ringer for years! Which leads us into reviewing alarms throughout the years. Before recording tonight, Dana had to stop by at her folks. Her mom said that she ran into Nathan‘s mom and she joked about the hemorrhoids from the previous episode. So it was the perfect time to ask the burning question on everyone’s mind, did Dana‘s mom know that that was male genitalia and not hemorrhoids!? Tune in to find out the answer! Imagine yourself at home, and there's a weird and obviously terrible noise coming from the basement. Your furnace is on the fritz and tonight is supposed to be subzero! You get someone in, they fix it but something else is wrong! Oh, and they can’t get the part, until tomorrow… of COURSE! Tale as old as time and of COURSE this happens to Nathan!! Why wouldn’t it, on the coldest night of the year since 2015!?!? After having a random "adulting" thought, Nathan decided he is going to paint some of the walls in his basement.     Traction Control, Marylin Manson and TV Characters

    Update from Canada… it’s still cold. Last week we commented on the cold and Canada was like hold my beer. Nathan’s loving it!! Going out for a winter rip! But what he HATES is traction control and whoever decided it was a must have feature for cars!! This week we’ve gotta take it back. Dana has to atone for her brain fart last week. We’ve got a listener submission from our MTV episode. Dana’s been getting some feedback from the Ace Ventura take… so far she’s the only one who thought that.     MTV and Reality TV

    RIP MTV (1981-2025)!!! It’s the end of an era! MTV has shut down its music only channels. It left the same way it came in with ‘Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles’. ***DISCLAIMER*** Since recording this, we have discovered that MTV is not completely dead, they have only shut down their music channels and will still run TV shows. We apologize for this misinformation and will be more careful next time we report on something like this. It doesn't change our love for their programming and the conversation still remains the same.*** In this episode NDK is going through its fav MTV shows through the years. From the early years of The Osborne’s and The Real World. To MTV classics like Jackass, 16 and Pregnant, The Hills and Jersey Shore. Of course we can't forget The Challenge! We also talk about MTV shows that turned into other shows, how Rob Dyrdek started with Rob and Big, then went onto Fantasy Factory and then Ridiculousness.     Cooking!

    Welcome back! This week it’s all about cooking! Everyone has to do it but not everyone likes it. Dana loves to cook but Nathan not so much. We can all agree, the dishes are the absolute worst! Next up are you good at cooking? Let’s face it, you could like to cook and be no good at it OR You could hate cooking but be excellent at it! Nathan admits he might not be any good at cooking but he has MASTERED the microwave/toaster oven cook time ratio!! Dana’s got a theory about baking and emotions; Tell us what you think of her stance on baking. Who taught you how to cook? And what are some of your favorite recipes? Smoking and BBQ enter the conversation. Nathan’s got some fond memories of him and a group of friends smoking and BBQing a bunch of meat. Nathan and Dana can both make a pretty good pot of soup!     New Year's, Stag and Does and John Cena

    Christmas is over and now we are getting ready to ring in the New Year! But first shout out to our fan Brooke who gave Dana an amazing gift of Diet Coke!! What are your plans for New Years!? What do you like to do? Back in the day there used to be fancy dance parties or a stag and doe, now it’s a bit more low key. Speaking of, Stag and does back in the day were the place to be! Especially in a small town! Door prizes, games and raffle tickets. Apparently NDK doesn’t do too badly at them either, especially in the fridge department. In a crazy turn of events, Dana was watching wrestling, John Cena’s last match and she is curious to get Nathan’s take on the whole thing. It’s official, Dana’s gotten the weirdest gift she has ever received, listen in for that. While working on this weeks episode NDK was getting distracted by Cops the TV show which brings a lot of nostalgic memories of Saturday nights watching Cops. Nathan’s got something that’s been grinding his gears and he needs to talk about it! You ever loom up a recipe and have to scroll through their whole life story just to get to the recipe!! Continuing with the grinding of the gears, video commercials!! What’s the deal with all these commercials in our videos!?!!
