How Do Action Capabilities Constrain Affordance Perception & Decision Making

How do an athlete’s action capabilities (e.g. their speed, power, movement time) influence their abilities to perceive affordances and make decisions? How well calibrated are these things? Can we improve perception and decision making by increasing action capacity?

Co-Adaptation: How Can Pitchers Exploit the Perceptual-Motor Strategies used by Hitters?

A discussion with Randy Sullivan from Florida Baseball Ranch and several professional baseball pitching coaches. Our topic was co-adaptation in baseball, looking at how a pitcher might exploit the perceptual-motor strategies that hitters are using against them.

A Constraints-Based, Grand Unifying Theory of Sports Performance

Can we use Newell’s constraints framework to unify the typically siloed subdisciplines (for example, skill acquisition, S&C and biomechanics) within sports science? A look at Paul Glazier’s Grand Unifying Theory of sports performance?

Moe Norman Jr ,

Very informative

This podcast shares some great insights into elite performance. What makes the best performers so outstanding? You will find many of the answers in these podcasts. He definitely sounds like he is reading, but the information is so good that I don't care. There are also some random, short musical interludes, which is odd, but again, it does not detract from the value I get out of this podcast.
