Abuse of Monkeys; No Oversight; NIH Funding of Foreign Labs Must End

Abuse of Monkeys; No Oversight; NIH Funding of Foreign Labs Must End

PETA answered a whistleblower's call and investigated a Colombian lab that experiments on animals. Now a Colombian government agency is trying to seize the monkeys at Caucaseco Scientific Research in Cali, Colombia. Should the U.S. National Institutes of Health be next to investigate? U.S. taxpayers have paid $17 million to Caucaseco. And that's just one of nearly 800 foreign labs getting hundreds of millions from NIH.
PETA's calling for an end to this practice.

Why Birds Should Be Free and Not Caged

Why Birds Should Be Free and Not Caged

PETA VP Christina Matthies talks to Emil Guillermo about birds, especially domesticated ones. Most human companions aren't as knowledgeable about birds. It means the situation devolves to the point a bird rescue is needed. How best to avoid a bird rescue? Don't turn to birds to be your companion animals. Let the birds be birds. Matthies is also the Editor-in-Chief of PETA's Global Animal Times. Check for a new issue this month. For more go to PETA.org. PETA Working To Stop Utah From Bigfooting Grassroots Activism

PETA Working To Stop Utah From Bigfooting Grassroots Activism

Utah's Senate Bill 113 would restrict animal enterprises and would mean the rollback of a local ban on the carriage horse trade in Salt Lake City. The state bigfooting the locals? It's a unique anti-animal rights strategy grassroots activists are fighting in Utah. PETA's Amy Meyer talks to Emil Guillermo and warns how if the anti-animal strategy wins in Utah, it could easily spread to other states.
