GreaT mix of viewpoints

Dave is formerly from the left and is now a conservative. It gives him a great perspective to look at a variety of different viewpoints.
I don’t need confirmation bias, so It’s perfect for me.

Seemed good at first

I really liked Dave when he started out, but as the past few years have gone on, I’ve been listening less and less.

Free speech is amazing, but Dave lets liars and propagandists spout false information unchallenged on the show. That’s not free speech with consequences; he’s just giving them a platform to appear to be legitimate.

He’s also weirdly biased for someone who claims not to take sides. That’s what took me a long time to see - he is constantly manipulating the perspective the audience has. Whether he’s offhandedly minimizing the credentials of one guest or inflating those of another, it’s just tiresome.

The best episodes by far are those with discussions from opposed individuals who *aren’t* Dave, because they get to engage with each other directly. It’s some good strong dialectical education and it’s much more insightful.

And obviously, the issue of funding is very sketchy. I didn’t know that Dave was funded by conservative think tanks, but the weirdness I’ve been noticing for years makes a lot more sense after learning that. It’s why he never mentions those sponsors. The bias is intended and I’m quite miffed that I was fooled for so long.
