    Derrick Moncrief - The Power of Mentorship Pro football athlete Derrick Moncrief is our guest on the podcast today, and we invite you to join us as we hear how pivotal it is to not only receive mentorship and encouragement in life, but to be that voice of encouragement for someone else as well. Born and raised in Prattville, Alabama in the southern US, Derrick was already playing football at the age of five. Strong voices of faith spoke into his life, from his parents and grandparents, to the mentors and chaplains throughout his career. These encouraging voices would point him to Jesus and help Derrick navigate pursuing his dream of playing in the NFL through college, disappointment and eventually success in the professional football world. Derrick has gone on to play in the CFL and NFL at different times, and in 2025 was the recipient of the Calgary Stampeders president's ring. The president's ring is a player voted award given to the player who best demonstrates excellence on and off the field. Today, Derrick and his wife are passionate about discipleship, stewarding the community and raising up those around them as voices of encouragement!!

For almost 20 years Riaan was deep into the occult and once led thousands in Satanism, conducting occult rituals and carrying out works of darkness. Growing up in a Dutch Reformed Church, and later baptized in the Apostolic Church, Riaan had a high curiosity for the unseen world and longed to be a part of ministry. After a time with some church hurt, and what he perceived to be hypocrisy, Riaan would leave Christianity and be embraced by the occult. Receiving a satanic Bible, Riann would let the occult encompass his life, prophesying over people, using healing crystals and performing rituals. During his time leading the South African Satanic Church, while preparing for a ritual Riaan would have an encounter where he visibly saw Jesus!! This feeling would grow, and MJ would begin to experiment with a lesbian lifestyle throughout college. As she continued with the lifestyle, MJ would become involved in a relationship with another woman for several years. However, MJ shares that she always felt the spiritual battle on the inside. Deep down, she knew that she was not walking in who God had called her to be. Then, one day while driving MJ would have an encounter with Jesus that would change her life. Be filled with hope at the courage of MJ's conviction of God's love that empowered her to walk into a new relationship with Jesus in the face of pain and relational loss. Today MJ's ministry (Rainbow Revival) reaches back out with the gospel and God's love, to the LGBT community. They do marches and events in parks with a heart to share the gospel, love the LGBT community and bring a place of connection for people.
