Educational Approach in Financial Advising with Alan Hensley

Join Matt Lovejoy and Alan Hensley as they get into an educational approach in financial advising. Alan helps individuals and families make financial decisions like buying a house, figuring out college, plan for retirement, and the like. In this episode, you’ll learn: Cultivating relationships and putting plans together for people. Fixing the issue of being too busy to meet with clients. Taking an education approach when collaborating with clients. Figuring out your investment philosophy. What is your moral compass? Celebrating wins with the family through dinners (pre-COVID) and (now) ordering meals. ~ About Alan Hensley: Life can be unpredictable. It's my goal to help take the stress out of planning for retirement. When I was young, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I remember overhearing my parents one evening as they were trying to figure out what to do with his 401(k). It was clearly a source of tremendous stress. Even as a kid, that didn’t make sense to me. Families shouldn’t spend their precious time and energy picking funds for their retirement accounts (or figuring out what to do with RSUs, for that matter). I believe that there are better ways to spend an evening — and my goal is to make that possible for you. My name is Alan Hensley. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ PROFESSIONAL with over a decade and a half of experience in wealth management. I specialize in helping professionals and families simplify their finances and make smart choices with money. I am equally comfortable working with a technology professional to figure out stock options and employee benefits — or helping someone who’s about to retire build a peaceful retirement strategy. ~ You can find Alan Hensley on...
