    Several bills are being passed and introduced as the House of Commons is about to rise for the summer. We will talk about the lawful access bill, the First Nations clean drinking water bill, the bail and sentencing bill, and a private member's bill on the therapeutic use of magic mushrooms coming, surprisingly from a Conservative MP, who seemingly even more surprisingly, wants to actually be helpful. Canadians are less and less impressed with their Premiers, and Ontario Premier Pork and Gravy goes the full Trump when told his approvals have dropped to 21%, the worst in the nation. But we open with an exploration of general weirdness from the Conservatives crying about 'our common history and culture' except when it comes to 'Hockey Night in Canada' on/or the CBC; an Ontario Conservative MPP engaging in misogyny in the legislature, separatists in Alberta making threats and ruining things for everyone else; Paul Saint-Pierre (Poilièvre) Plamondon tanking in Québec. On today's Canadians Who Make Us Proud, we speak of our national women's softball team's bid to qualify for the Olympics and rising tennis star Victoria Mboko. Happy Pride Month DamFam! Meanwhile, at home... Conservatives still seem lost and are once again being really weird and repelling. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith blows up her entire stance on citizen-led petitions by signalling she intends to screw over Corb Lund on the 'Water Not Coal' drive. Danielle Smith's reforms of the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) has led to a fourth resident of Alberta dying under her watch [Trigger warning: This story contains discussion of suicide], following yet another death of despair of a 37 year-old transgender man in February 2024* , as well as the December, 2025 death of Prashant Sreekumar after nearly 8 hours in the Emergency Department waiting room of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and the May 8, 2026 death of an unnamed man after six hours in the Royal Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department waiting area. Guess nobody has told him that Canada is already on the record as being willing to do the same when we pre-called this bluff eons ago, we we said "we are of the firm belief that no deal is better than a bad deal". Former NDP MP Charlie Angus request a foreign interference investigation into links between self-appointed Alberta separatist leaders and the U.S. (and potentially other governments, given Russia formally entered the game yesterday). We bring you an opinion piece of Pierre Poilièvre and the current Conservative Party of Canada from a genuine small-'c' conservative who also sees what we do. Finally, the federal government is considering following Manitoba's lead on social media access for citizens under the age of 16.
