Save Us, March Madness + The Best Picture Draft (feat. Deck and Wiz)

In the 166th episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys are joined by Deck (Declan) and Wiz for an episode built around March Madness and an all-time movie draft. They open with Off the Tops (00:00), getting to know both guests — Deck as a sneaky teacher/young professional and fan of the show, and Wiz continuing his now-established lore. The conversation bounces from the Red Wings’ brutal March struggles to an all-time Tiger Woods comparison, before turning into a plea to “save us” Cade Cunningham — even if it means donating lungs. At (10:25), March Madness takes over as the main event. The boys break down what continues to be the best sports stretch of the year. From there, it’s a full tournament deep dive: the Big Ten showing out (Iowa, Nebraska), the impact of NIL on the death of Cinderella runs, and UConn’s ability to win games while getting outplayed (Chiefs-esque). Michigan looks dominant, Arizona is rolling, Illinois continues to impress, and chaos moments like High Point over Wisconsin remind everyone why we love this tournament. The Final Four is set up as must-watch — Illinois vs UConn is cinema, while Michigan vs Arizona feels like an all-out war. At (27:02), the episode shifts into the Best Picture Mega Draft. Deck sets the tone with his movie taste before the boys draft their teams, debating the greatest Best Picture winners of all time. From undeniable classics (The Godfather, Gladiator, Oppenheimer) to controversial picks and “mid” winners, the segment is packed with strong opinions, deep cuts, and chaos — the perfect way to close the show. March Madness Preview with Special Guest Matthew G. Wismer

In the 165th episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys are joined by Wiz (Matthew Gerald Wismer, CA) for his third official appearance. A quick “get to know Wiz” turns into outrage over Bam’s 83-point game, confusion over Team USA in the WBC, Tigers Spring Training check-ins, and a full descent into conspiracy theories - before ending with one clear message: Red Wings, just make the playoffs. At (12:50), it’s officially March — and Wiz takes over.  Save us, Wiz. The boys break down the tournament with no fluff: Duke as the favourite, Michigan’s loaded frontcourt, and why NIL might be killing Cinderella runs. They debate popular upset picks like VCU, identify sleepers (High Point, Akron), and run through All-American selections while introducing the “Trapezoid of Excellence” — Arizona, Michigan… or the field. As always, it’s chaos, conviction, and bracket talk at its best. At (39:40), the episode closes with a frustrated breakdown of the Lions’ offseason: confusing moves, underwhelming signings, and a contender that suddenly feels… off. After that, Wiz brings a couple questions before we wrap things up.  Wiz also teaches OG about mogging, framemogged, looksmaxxing, John Pork, 6-7, etc.  Time Stamps  00:00 – Off the Tops + Get to Know Wiz  12:50 – March Madness Breakdown  39:40 – Wiz Questions + Lions Offseason Follow & Listen: Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/thetruthwithtandi/ YouTube:  https://youtube.com/channel/UCmfZVA4y1zzG65XktkkJcDg Apple Podcasts:  https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-truth-with-tal-isaac/id1543237123 Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/7gpiks0jbQE5UqAvmTi6PD?si=Nu6wwOXLQq-0f-hwXMg-Zw.ee

Free Beef Stew, Super Bowl Recap, and the Tigers Are So Back

In the 164th episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys open with Off the Tops (00:00): debating whether the Olympics are actually cool or kind of sus, breaking down the most wasted talents of the last 30 years (Ben Simmons, JaMarcus Russell, Tony Mandarich), and setting the tone for another manic episode. Next comes the Super Bowl Recap (4:56). While many didn’t love the game, Tal & Isaac did — a defensive chess match, elite scheming, and quarterbacks under constant pressure. New England’s offensive line was completely exposed, Seattle capitalized, and the game proved once again that championships aren’t always pretty. Then it’s Pistons time (11:45). Free Isaiah. Free Jalen. The Bad Boys are officially back. The Stewart suspension sparks debate about toughness, composure, and protecting your own, while the Pistons continue winning in ways that defy modern NBA trends. This team is physical, slept on, and still underestimated by Vegas and the media. Finally, the Tigers are back (28:00) and its damn February. Framber Valdez strengthens the rotation, Justin Verlander returns home, and Detroit’s payroll cracks the top 10 for the first time in a decade. The optimism is real — but so are the questions. The division is there for the taking. Now the bats have to show up. Super Bowl Prediction, Playoff Recap, and Free Giannis

In the 163rd episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys start with some off-the-tops: Chris Illitch still isn’t serious, car wash gift-with-purchase logic is broken down, made-up plays on Thursday nights, and recent watches (Marty, Primate, Sinners, One Battle After Another) get a run. They also dig into why Bill Belichick somehow isn’t in the Hall yet, as well as why Isaac tries to keep the show on track. Then it’s NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl discussion. This one has motion. The guys talk about why it’s hard not to be happy for Sam Darnold — a genuinely good dude who got kicked to the curb way too early — and why anyone upset about New England being here is either an anti-Patriots radical or a Josh Allen extremist. They dig into the historical context of young Super Bowl QBs (spoiler: winning at 23 is not common), why it feels early for Drake Maye to be here, and how Seattle’s defense is built to make life miserable for a shaky Patriots offensive line. Long balls might be there, sacks definitely will be. Final call: Seattle overcomes a mistake or two from Darnold and wins it without getting cute.  From there, it’s broader playoff fallout. The postseason as a whole ruled — save us, football. Josh “Overrated” Allen catches a stray (with love to the two real Bills fans), the Caleb Williams Bears experience collapses on schedule, Aaron Rodgers officially dead, and the Chargers hiring McDaniel at OC makes them a sneaky “host a playoff game next year” investment. Also: the Niners’ depth finally got exposed.  Finally, it’s Pistons time — and this isn’t delusion anymore. Detroit is simply the best team in the East. Vegas agrees. As of January 29, the Pistons have the third-best title odds in the league, right behind OKC and Denver. The Giannis situation gets unpacked properly: no formal ask-out, both sides mishandling it, Milwaukee scared to be the bad guy, Giannis scared of optics — echoes of Kareem in ’75. His value isn’t as nuclear as people think, but the Pistons might actually be the team positioned to strike. The boys break down the Yahoo-proposed deal (graded an A), why Langdon’s conservatism matters, and whether standing pat is even defensible anymore when everyone agrees a move should be coming.  Time Stamps 0:00 – Off the Tops 12:57 – Super Bowl Breakdown & Playoff Recap 28:15 – Pistons and the Giannis Situation Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetruthwithtandi/   YouTube: https://youtube.com/channel/UCmfZVA4y1zzG65XktkkJcDg   Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-truth-with-tal-isaac/id1543237123   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7gpiks0jbQE5UqAvmTi6PD?si=Nu6wwOXLQq-0f-hwXMg-Zw.ee

NFL Wild Card Weekend Predictions, Lions Offseason, and Save Us Pistons

In the 162nd episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys discuss some miscellanous off the tops (movies, Florida trip, Gladiator helmet origin etc.).  Then... NFL Wild Card Weekend. They run through every matchup, pick the lines, predict winners, call out fraud teams, and debate which underdogs actually have a shot. Some teams are overrated, some are terrifying, some have very short QBs, and some are hanging on by coaching miracles. Then it’s Lions offseason time. Detroit’s season didn’t end how we wanted, but the window is far from closed. The guys break down the key offseason priorities, the pivotal moves that need to happen fast, and how just a few smart decisions can legitimately vault this team right back into Super Bowl contention next season. This isn’t panic — it’s a plan. Finally, it’s time for Save Us, Pistons. Are we delusional? Are we hopeful? Are we begging? Maybe all three. The boys talk optimism, reality, roster outlook, and whether Detroit basketball can finally give this city something to believe in. Lions Battles, NBA Hot Takes & the Breakfast Cereal Draft

In the 161st episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys open with some Off the Tops: Goodfellas still hits hard (thank you to Braeden and Wiz) and the Michigan football coaching mess continues with Sherron Moore out and the next hire looming large. Then it’s Lions mode. Detroit battled the Packers and Cowboys with mixed results. Ja’Marr Chase is playing great, Goff holds up when the line does, and Gibbs keeps making plays. But the O-line struggles, the D-line is healthy but ineffective, and Ragnow’s injury stings. Mahogany and Tate show promise, but depth remains a concern. Next, NBA Hot Takes: LeBron’s double-digit streak ends, Raptors and OKC stir debates, Luka, Jokic, Giannis, and Shai lead the MVP race with Cade close behind, and Giannis trade rumors swirl around the Knicks. Trae Young, Lauri Markkanen, and Pistons depth also spark conversation, with Cooper Flagg emerging as ROTY front-runner. Finally, the Cereal Draft: sweetness rules, health is secondary, and versatility is key. First-round picks include Mini Wheats, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Frosted Flakes, with classic favorites like Reese’s Puffs, Special K with berries, and more rounding out the multi-purpose, dual-threat showdown. Save Us, Gibbs & The Pistons Are Here

In the 160th episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys open with some Off the Tops: Michigan gearing up for a massive OSU showdown, the growing sports betting scandal, the Mavs finally firing Nico Harrison, the Red Wings winning people back, and a quick review of Sisu: Road to Revenge. Then it’s Lions mode. Detroit sits at 7–4, but the last few weeks have been rough. The Giants game was a disaster (saved only by Gibbs, a real MVP candidate), the offensive line can’t pass block, Jake Bates is up-and-down, JaMo is running cardio, and the defense is leaking explosive plays everywhere. The Minnesota loss was predictable with the O-line imploding, Washington was revenge, and the Philly loss stung because the defense actually played great. Gibbs continues to be elite while Goff cannot survive interior pressure. Save us, Lions. Next, Week 12 NFL Hot Takes: nobody in the NFC is truly good (maybe the Rams), the MVP race is a mess, backup QBs have taken over the league again, JJ is hurt, and the Chiefs remain Michael Myers — impossible to kill. Finally, Detroit Basketball is 14–2 and leading the East. Cade looks like a Top-5 player, Jalen Duren is making an All-NBA push, BBall Paul and Daniss Jenkins keep putting up wild numbers, and the Pistons’ depth has become a real weapon. Monty Williams slander included. Lions Are Back, Around the NFL, & Hoops Discussion

In the 159th episode of The Truth with Tal & Isaac, the boys recap their weekend trip to Cincinnati and the Lions’ continued life-saving performances. Off the Tops Cade looking good, Wings can’t waste another year, Tuesday night movie crew, and a rallying cry to Save and Free Chauncey Billups. Lions: Bengals → Chiefs → Bucs Cincinnati was a massive W — great fans, high energy, and even a little recon: seating, warmups, street meat, and cornhole with local youth. On the field, Detroit handled the Bengals well: Goff solid and secondary held up despite some ups and downs. Chiefs game = rigged. Offense struggled, big plays didn’t stick, and the defense needed more pressure and cleaner coverage. Bucs game: Gibbs dominated, Monty’s role shrinking, Alim and Barnes stole the show, and trade-deadline moves are clear — go all in (we know they won't). Around the League Quick takes: Bills defense broken, Colts strong, Broncos quietly good, Jets offense awful, Packers unserious, Titans worst team, Bryce Young still has potential, Vikings locker room messy, Eagles good but suspect.  NBA Notes Wemby looks video game-level insane. Scoring and fouls up — bad for the Pistons. Surprises: undefeated Chicago & Philly, Kuminga cooking with Golden State, etc. #saveus #grit #detroit Time Stamps 0:00 – Off the Tops 3:07 – Free Chauncey 7:52 – Lions Discussion 29:10 – Around the NFL  40:00 – Basketball is Back Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetruthwithtandi/ YouTube: https://youtube.com/channel/UCmfZVA4y1zzG65XktkkJcDg Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-truth-with-tal-isaac/id1543237123 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7gpiks0jbQE5UqAvmTi6PD?si=Nu6wwOXLQq-0f-hwXMg-Zw.ee
