383: Top 10 Games of the Decade + The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

Some amazing video games came out in the 2010s and Ben Beck of Next Level Radio is with me to count down our top 10 games of the decade -- plus games we're curious about but didn't get around to playing, and games we're looking forward to.
And, Skydance Interactive is about to put out The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, an incredible looking VR game set in a flooded post-apocalyptic New Orleans, where you get to play out your fantasies of what you'd actually do in the ZA. I think you're really going to enjoy the conversation I had about the game with creative director Adam Grantham (starts at 1:37:58).

382: Jay Bonansinga & Melissa Hutchison + Neil Cohen

And now for something completely different: This episode I'm so very pleased to talk with two amazing friends who I've met through my involvement with TWD, Walking Dead novelist Jay Bonansinga and Clementine voice actress Melissa Hutchison! We talk all about how being involved in the world of The Walking Dead has impacted our lives, among other things.
And to continue the theme of being a fan of TWD and then getting involved to a greater level, I talk with author Neil Cohen about his book Business Is Dead: Resurrecting Entrepreneurship Through the Fan-Focused Venture. You'll learn about a varied group of people who've each turned their Walking-Dead-related hobby or passion into a business. Plus we talk a little about Neil's zombie novel trilogy inspired by his experience working in government agencies supporting emergency management and counterterrorism.
You can find links to all Neil's books at businessisdead.com.

381: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

One of my all-time favorite TV shows (maybe my very favorite) is AMC's Breaking Bad, so I was stoked to hear creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan was releasing a sequel movie, called El Camino, on Netflix. This week Rima, Dianna, and I cover the movie. Church!
Note: We had a few audio problems (some clips and crackles) early on, but it smooths out pretty quick so hang in there.

    380: "The World Before" (S10E8)

Intense episode this week. Though the Whisperers suffer a loss, I feel like their plan to chip away at the foundation of Alexandrian society is succeeding, and our friends are shaken, paranoid, fearful, and ready to go off like a loaded gun. Lucy and I had an fun, interesting, in-depth talk about it all. Enjoy!

    379: "Open Your Eyes" (S10E7)

My obstinate denial served me well this episode because I got one hell of a surprise at the end :) Lucy and I really enjoyed this ep, and Cindi joins me for a quick Comic Talk. Loving how great TWD has been! It makes it so much more fun to podcast about. Enjoy!
On another note, I've been watching and podcasting on The Mandalorian, the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series, and it's SO GREAT! I'm loving it and I highly recommend it. It's the Star Wars thing we've been looking for. If you're watching, be sure to check out our coverage at House Podcastica: The Mandalorian Edition, hosted by Jason, Rich, and Chris. Links to the podcast on all the platforms are at housepodcastica.com.

Bonds of friendship, love, necessity, and podcast cohosting, all in this episode, as Jason and Karen talk it out! Plus, Comic Talk with special guest Grae Westgate of The Busy Bookshelf.

Customer Reviews

Nutrify ,

good hosts, interesting takes and commentary

I am a longtime listener (well, for at least the last 2 years), and have enjoyed your coverage of the original show as well as Fear TWD. I LOVE LUCY. She is a great addition, thoughtful and witty in her understated way. I like that you disagree with each other, kindly and open-heartedly. It always enhances my viewing of the shows, so I make a regular practice of listening to you all after I watch the show(s). It's like a good conversation, even when I'm arguing in my own head with you. :) So hello from Canada.

m_o_dufour ,

It's OK!

Good show but Karen gets on my nerves with unnecessary loud laughter. She's to loud! Sorry :(

Re-tried February 2017... sorry still the same!

Re-tried December 2017... sorry still the same!

Re-tried April 2018... Love Rima...

October 2019... Hate Lucy's laugher!!! What is it with this show???

Anabel Almeida ,

Too much giggling and laughing.

Really? Is it absolutely necessary to laugh (so loudly) after.every.singe.sentence? This is the reason I stopped listening. Too annoying while I’m trying to listen to what really matters
