Version 3.0 : Rediscovering who You Are in Midlife with Executive Business Coach Karen Elliot

This week, I have the absolute pleasure of welcoming Karen Elliot to the show—an executive business coach and the CEO of Leads with Purpose. And I’ll be honest, this conversation hit deep. You know those moments when your body knows something profound is happening? That’s exactly how I felt—goosebumps and all. In this episode, Karen opens up in a way she never has publicly before. We talk about the quiet, nagging questions that live inside so many of us: Am I living the life I truly want? Or am I following a script written by someone else—family, culture, society? What unfolds is a story of midlife reckoning and radical self-honesty, and how Karen made the courageous leap to become her most authentic self—what she calls Version 3.0. It’s raw. It’s powerful. And it’s going to stir something inside of you. We also explore the beautiful, unglamorous truth about breakthrough moments, and the intentional inner work that follows. And make sure you stay to the end—Karen shares the monthly practice that’s been foundational in her personal evolution: her Operating System for Life. It’s wise, practical, and deeply moving. This episode is a masterclass in self-leadership, reinvention, and living with purpose. As Promised: THE ENTREPRENEUR'S OPERATING SYSTEM FOR LIFE 1. Doing What You Love 2. With People That You Love 3. Making a Difference and Impact 4. Being Compensated Appropriately 5. With Time for Other Passions

The Art of Communication : Becoming More Yourself

It’s been a little while since my last podcast episode, but I promise this one is worth the wait! I’m back, and I’ve brought an incredible guest with me—professional speaker and coach, Heather Morrison. Now, before you think, "Oh, I don’t do public speaking, this one isn’t for me," let me stop you right there. This conversation is about so much more than standing on a stage—it’s about social interaction, confidence, and learning how to communicate in a way that feels natural and empowering, whether you’re leading a meeting, networking, or just trying to have a conversation that doesn’t leave you cringing later. Heather shares her Four-Pillar Methodology for Success in Public Speaking, which is all about: 🎤 Caring about and connecting with your audience—because true impact starts with genuine engagement. 🎤 Understanding that public speaking is a skill, not an identity—it’s something you use when you need it, not a personality trait. 🎤 Letting go of the pressure to "perform"—public speaking isn’t about becoming someone else; it’s about removing everything that isn’t authentically you. 🎤 Trusting that confidence is built, not born—even the most introverted or shy among us can learn to communicate powerfully. If you’ve ever walked away from a conversation thinking, “Why did I say that?” or “I wish I could express myself more clearly,”—this episode is for you. If you want to reach out to Heather or learn more about her and her work, you can find her at www.delieveryourbest.com or on IG @deliver.your.best

She's Invested : A Conversation About Women and Wealth

You know what I think makes a woman incredibly magnetic, powerful, and yes, super sexy? A woman who has a healthy respect for and understanding of money. Which is exactly why this week’s guest, Janelle Lansdahl, is the epitome of a total boss. Janelle, who started her career as a heavy equipment mechanic and transitioned into financial advising, is passionate about empowering women to take charge of their financial futures. Here’s the reality: Hard work alone won’t help you make more money. Being frugal alone won’t secure your financial future. Education about finances alone won’t build the life you dream of. It takes all three—hard work, respect for money, and a strong financial education—to create the life you truly want. Janelle breaks it down in this episode, sharing that 20% of money is about math, but 80% is about your mindset and beliefs. It’s not just about the numbers—it’s about your relationship with money. This conversation is packed with golden advice you’ll want to take notes on, including: Janelle’s must-read book recommendation to help shift your money mindset. Her tips on how to choose the right financial advisor to fit your goals. Janelle’s approach is rooted in transparency, risk management, and empowering her clients with knowledge. Her goal? To help you feel protected, reduce financial stress, and create lasting prosperity for your family. In this episode, Janelle shares her unique perspective, blending her agricultural roots with her passion for teaching women how to play—and win—the financial game. Equal Partners-Improving Gender Equality in the Home with Kate Mangino

Today’s episode is a special one for me. I’m honored to be interviewing my first published author guest, the brilliant Kate Mangino. Kate is a gender expert with vast international experience in promoting equality and social change. In her book, Equal Partners: Improving Gender Equality at Home, she brings her expertise to the most personal of spaces—our daily lives. As I navigate my 40s, balancing career growth with caregiving, I find myself questioning whether it’s truly possible to do it all. Can I be successful in my work and still be the amazing mother and wife I strive to be? Honestly, I’m exhausted from trying to juggle everything, even the tasks I enjoy. What I want is simple: a fulfilling career and a harmonious home. But the reality? Women still carry about two-thirds of household responsibilities, leaving men with just one-third, a ratio that hasn’t shifted much despite advances in gender equality outside the home. This is why today’s conversation with Kate is so powerful. We discuss the unequal partnership dynamics many of us face and how it impacts everything from physical labor to the mental load we carry. Kate breaks down how these roles are socially ingrained, but the good news is—anyone can learn the skills needed to create more balance at home. Kate also shares her research-based strategies on fostering true equality, both in our current partnerships and in raising the next generation. This episode is full of practical insights to help us all step up, support each other, and finally feel like we're truly sharing the load. You can find Kate's book wherever great books are sold.
