Ep. 40 📝 The 6 Business Truths I Still Stand By in 2026

“One day when I’m on my deathbed, chances are I’ll still be telling people to…” This was a prompt given to me in this really cool writing group I'm in (shoutout Tarzan, love you!) and it really got the wheels turning! So much of what I do is dependent on industries and trends and platforms that exist in the now, but on my deathbed (hopefully I'm 105 years old!), everything will have shapeshifted, so what will I still be telling clients to do? What are my universal truths that transcend industry, platform, methodology, medium? In this week's episode, I'm diving into timeless truths that transcend trends and sharing the six biz truths I'm still standing by as a biz strategist in 2026! I'm talking: Creating what makes you come alive (and trusting that if it moves you, it will move others) Setting intentional boundaries so you don’t build an adrenaline-based biz Firing the editor and spending more time hitting send Pricing your work in a way that actually feels good in your bones Keeping showing up — even when it’s scary AF And running the biz you actually want to runMentioned in this episode: Monday Magic Method The Elevated Retreat (March 7th & 8th in ATX) Sliding Scale 1:1 Biz Strategy Sessions Ep. 39 🌱 Changing Lanes, Taking Risks & How Numbers Can Actually Protect Your Creativity (not kill it) with Emily Bordner Chelsea Riffe (my Heated-Rivalry-obsessed podcast pitching coach) May Lindstrom — The Good Stuff Body Oil Tiny Grocer in ATXP.S. Ep. 39 🌱 Changing Lanes, Taking Risks & How Numbers Can Actually Protect Your Creativity (not kill it) with Emily Bordner

Ever feel the nudge to go all in on your side hustle? Before the plan is fully fleshed out, when it's all still messy AF!? Or maybe things are nearly working (!!) and you're getting the hit you need to pivot for things to really click. If you've ever found yourself wondering if it's possible to build a business that honors your creativity, your profit margins AND your peace... this episode is MEDICINE! I'm chatting with my longtime client and OG biz babe, Emily Bordner, founder of E.B.& Co, who's been turning her vision into an empire (with FOUR retail locations, a thriving wholesale biz, custom manufacturing, and the kind of forecastability most founders only dream of). Emily shares how she learned to follow the numbers, to walk away from what used to work to make space for what works now, to lead from curiosity, and responsiveness, even when the stakes are high and the pressure is real. We dive into: Why following the numbers can actually protect your creativity (not kill it) The moment Emily knew her original biz model wasn’t sustainable, and what she did next The power of pivoting without making it mean you “failed” Self-bossing™, time boundaries, nervous system care, and putting the body before the biz Writing and publishing a book just for the joy of it, and why done is better than perfect Why enthusiasm, generosity, and play are powerful leadership toolsThis conversation is such a grounded reminder that success doesn’t come from rigidity, but from agility. Emily is living proof that you can grow something meaningful, profitable, and deeply YOU, without burning yourself to the ground. Ep. 38 📓 Raised Outside the System: How Unschooling Made Me Allergic to Mediocrity

This episode, I'm answering the questions I get asked quite often, especially now as a mama: "Did you like growing up homeschooling?" (Well, unschooling, actually. Google it!) “How did you go to college/make money/not become a reclusive weirdo?” I share about = how that single, radical choice (shoutout to my brave parents 👋) shaped literally eeeverything about how I live, work, parent and lead now. No bells. No grades. No tests. I did make my mom buy me a locker tho, so my school was "real". Bc OBVI a locker = true education. Growing up unschooling gave me the keys to my education and taught me how to be the boss of my own life before I had my first "real job". It showed me what it meant to follow my curiosity, trust my instincts, and build my life around desire instead of obligation. It taught me how to self-boss™ long before I ever ran a biz. It made me a rule-questioner. A self-trusting, joy-prioritizing, curiosity-fueled little freaky freak, and eventually, an entrepreneur with a strong inner compass. I know it's not for everyone (nor does everyone have the access/priveledge to do so), but I get asked. We dive into: What unschooling actually is, and what it isn’t Why the traditional school system was never meant to support creativity, agency, or aliveness The complicated paradox of educational privilege (especially now that I’m the one making decisions for my kiddo) How being unschooled shaped my nervous system, my biz, and my obsession with doing things my own damn way (Virgo much?) The Workwomb flavor of self-leadership — gentle, intuitive, built around capacity, not performance The unschooler-to-entrepreneur pipeline (aka why so many of us become biz owners) Rebossing + reparenting yourself after years of trying to fit in boxes you were never meant forIf you’ve ever felt like the world wasn’t built for your brain… If you’ve ever been the one asking “why do we do it this way?” while everyone else shrugs… If you’re in the thick of remembering who you were before the world told you who to be… This episode is for you! Ep. 37 💪 Doing Hard Things on Purpose: Fear, Intuition & the Truth About ‘Doing the Work’ with Shantani Moore

Our bodies are always speaking to us, but most of us were never taught how to listen. Instead, we’re taught to numb, push through, perform, optimize, transcend, and “be productive.” We try to think our way out of fear. We try to affirm our way out of dysregulation. We try to logic our way into clarity. But what if the clarity, the courage, the creativity, the capacity you’re craving… is already living in your body? This conversation with Shantani Moore — Body Intelligence Coach and nervous system expert — is one of the most energizing, truth-telling, paradigm-shifting episodes we’ve ever had on the pod. She’s funny, brilliant, wildly compassionate, and refreshingly honest about what “doing the work” really means (and what it absolutely doesn’t). We talk about the difference between intuition and instinct, how to relate to hard things without collapsing, why anxiety might actually be your secret weapon, and what happens when the wellness industry turns healing into performance. We dive into: How our bodies communicate with us — and why most creatives are ignoring 90% of the data Intuition vs. instinct: the biggest misconception and how to tell which one is actually speaking The truth about “doing the work,” and how to know when you’re performing your healing instead of living it Expanding your capacity for the unknown: nervous system training, hard conversations, and holding the frame Why anxiety can be a competitive advantage (and how to leverage it instead of numbing)If you’ve ever wondered… “Is this fear… or is this my intuition?”“Why do I keep abandoning myself?”“Why does success still feel stressful?”“Why do I look regulated but feel like chaos inside?” …this one’s going to land deep. Ep. 35 🌈 The Art Of Self-Leadership, Mushrooms, and Staying In Your Creative Flow with RAINBO Founder Tonya Papanikolov

You know that point in your biz where the work that once lit you up starts asking something new of you? Maybe new systems, new boundaries, new levels of self-leadership? That’s exactly what today’s conversation explores. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Tonya Papanikolov, the founder and CEO of RAINBO — a functional mushroom and adaptogen company built on a foundation of integrity, curiosity, and deep reverence for the natural world. Tonya’s story moves from holistic nutritionist and yoga practitioner to visionary product-based founder, blending together science, spirituality, and entrepreneurship in the most magnetic way. We talk about nervous system wisdom, feminine leadership, working with your partner, and what it really looks like to grow a soul-led business that scales, without losing your magic. We dive into: Tonya’s journey from holistic nutritionist to creating RAINBO — and the healing experience that inspired it The “mystical” birth story of RAINBO (and how she literally asked the mushroom spirit for permission to create the brand) Shifting identity from healer to CEO, and learning to lead a team with heart Working with your romantic partner — and how to maintain polarity when you also share a business Tonya’s self-leadership practices: what it looks like to structure creativity, delegate well, and lead from intuition What’s lighting her up now: play, poetry, sensuality, and slowing downThis conversation is pure medicine for anyone evolving in their biz — especially if you’ve ever wondered how to scale without hardening, or how to stay in your creative flow while leading others. It’s juicy and full of wisdom on entrepreneurship, embodiment, and what it means to build a company that’s as alive and intentional as you are. Ep. 34 💥 Creative Unrest & Our Zone of Aliveness: How to Find (and Follow) What Makes You Come Alive

As artists and creative entrepreneurs, we’ve all heard people talk about finding your zone of genius. And while I love the intention behind it, lately it’s started to feel a little limiting — like maybe what we actually need isn’t more “genius”… but more aliveness. What if instead of asking, “What am I the best at?” we asked, “What makes me feel most alive?” This is your Zone of Aliveness — the place where your work feels like an extension of your energy, your curiosity, and your joy. It’s not about optimizing or mastering or narrowing in, but instead about expanding. It’s about finding the places in your work and creativity that light you up from the inside out. Shoutout to @tonyapapanikolove for interviewing me on her podcast about this theme and inspiring me to create a full solo episode on it! In this episode, I share what that shift has looked like for me — and how it’s changed the way I create, the way I work with clients, and honestly, the way I see success. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a version of your business that’s working on paper but not working for your soul… this one’s for you. We dive into: What it really means to create from a place of aliveness — and why it matters more than “genius” How to use your Zone of Aliveness as a compass for creativity, decision-making, and sustainability The 80/20 Rule for entrepreneurs: identifying the 20% of work that drives 80% of your results A reflective exercise to uncover your 5–7 biggest wins and trace the “seeds” that made them possible How curiosity, courage, and cheekiness can open doors you don’t even know exist yetLinks & Mentions: Book a 1:1 session with Abbi to hone in on your Zone of Genius for only $99 — Book here! Ep. 33 🔥 The Quantum Crumble: Burning Down Your Dream Biz and Rising Again with Nicole Leth

Ever had the gut feeling that the “dream” you built isn’t actually yours anymore? That little voice in your head that says: burn it all down and begin again? That’s exactly what artist Nicole Leth did. After a decade running a wildly successful clothing line (stores, press, big following), she walked away to return to what felt true. Now her work shows up where you least expect it — on billboards, in murals, as anonymous postcards, even written across the sky. Nicole shows us what it looks like to listen to your intuition even when it’s wildly inconvenient. We dive into: Art as survival and the moment creativity became her lifeline Burning down a “dream” biz that looked like success but wasn’t aligned Life after the crumble: billboards, postcards, murals, skywriting Intuition + curiosity as the fuel for her most impactful work Behind the scenes: money, monotasking, rituals, and self-bossing as a full-time artistThis one is raw, brave, and so inspiring for anyone who’s ever wondered: what if I let myself create what I actually need?
