They review new strategy games and dive deep on discussions of what makes a strategy game great. Their is a sort of genuine banter between friends discussing their favourite games that's hard to come by. You can tell they put effort into producing the podcast but it doesn't feel like a product, it feels authentic!
Must listen for all game design enthusiasts

I've listened to probably around 50 of these and every single one has offered great insight on why the game they are playing does or does not succeed. I think anyone who is interested in games or game design as a whole should listen to this, whether or not you are interested in development

Do you ever look at a map of Germany and immediately start thinking about great spots to cross the Rhine? Well i have the podcast for you! I have to tip my hat to Rob Zacny and the three moves ahead gang for delivering a fantastic podcast week after week. I listen to a couple of gaming podcasts and 90% of them seem to hit similar beats, 3MA (and all the idle thumbs casts) dive deep into what makes a good game tick. One of their strengths is having fairly different topics week to week so it doesn’t get stuck on one genre and become stale. It also does a great job of introducing games that i would have never played to me. My only complaint would be is that it would be nice to know what the topic of discussion is ahead of time so i can have a chance to play some of the game ahead of time before listening to the podcast. Rob Zacny also has a fantastic voice and is a great moderator.
