Riveting!!
Very well researched and articulated. Soothing execution of some unsavoury situations and definitely holds the audience captive. Well done and please keep it going!!!!
That Voice and Accent
Love listening to her.
Great podcast (mostly)
I wondered how Rachel et al would make a lengthy podcast with such a limited amount of material. Credit to them, the podcast is compelling from the beginning. Four stars for great storytelling and writing
No star or stars for post-production. Rachel’s narration voice is terribly shallow and croaky. Even when she says her own name ‘Brown’, there is a croak. Rachel, you make great radio but I need to enjoy hearing you tell your story.
Come on ABC ... surely your people have voice trainers and voice training. Could it be that this ‘natural speaking voice’ is the new way of doing narration these days? I hear it on the CBC and on This American Life. Hearing that croak takes me out of the story whenever I hear it. Trace was compelling enough to pull me back in. Maybe the ABC isnt concerned that having a decent broadcast/podcast voice is important today. But come on, do your listeners a favour ... podcasts are an audio medium ... quality voices are essential for the medium
