Makin' it in Dubai - a Viewpoint Podcast Special

Welcome to a special dispatch from Gordon Price, checking in from Expo 2022 in Dubai. (With our apologies for the sound quality. At a place like Expo, it was the quietest place he could find.)One of the best things about a world’s fair—after you’ve visited the pavilions, tasted the food, listened to the music —is oddly, also one of the worst things: standing in lines. Because it is in those lineups where you’re likely to engage with people from other places in way you never otherw...

Why aren’t you listening to this yet?

Following municipal politics in the lower mainland is exhausting. I am tremendously thankful for the service podcasts like this and others provide. Expect the wisdom and insights accrued over decades distilled into, more often than not, fantastic interviews.

Vancouver Urbanism 101

Totally biased review, as I produce the podcast, and have hosted a few episodes. That said, the episodes hosted by Gord - his guests, interview style and the content generated by those conversations - have been like a mini-graduate degree in urban studies for me. I give 3-4X as much time listening to the content in editing as I do during the recording, and am continually amazed by how much value I get out of the episodes. Informative, compelling (often funny), and both timely and timeless.
