Excellent discussions around the teachings of the early church, the Dessert Fathers & Mothers, the life of Christ and the heart of what it means to live a life seeking to follow the Spirit of God. They touch on the unfolding revelation of the heart of the gospel, revealing Gods heart of Love through Christ’s life and teachings, the history which unfolded from that time period and all that’s led up to our present day expressions of church. Josh & Murray have a lovely friendly banter, peppered with deep insights, great historical knowledge, and a good understanding of the breadth of church history. The insights gained from their own and others life experiences, and the study of the writings of the dessert Fathers & Mothers, along with the early Church history, all add up to excellent fodder to express the richness of this journey of living a life that reveals the work of Gods Spirit in the transforming of our hearts. In listening to the voices from the dessert, and journeying through the wrestling of what the Spirit of God is saying, we have the opportunity to have our hearts become more like the one whose name is Love. I have been deeply moved, gained greater understanding and often had some perspectives challenged by their discussions. This podcast is a lovely mix of the very down to earth, nitty gritty realities of living as a spiritual being having a human experience! As they wrestle with spiritual truth, and the foibles of us being human, both the humorous and the heartbreaking ways we can go off track are addressed. We see however the profound and powerful grace and work of God in our lives as human beings, throughout history, and realize that despite all the challenges, love is indeed at work. The friendship between Josh & Murray, offers an added bonus in that it’s like us getting to eavesdrop on a conversation between two good friends. The banter, the familiarity, the honesty, the vulnerability and the humility pack a power punch. As these two friends discuss not only their own lives, but the lives of many of the saints that have gone before, we gain great insight into how the journey of a life following the ways of the Spirit is ultimately a beautiful tapestry of Gods amazing grace. This podcast mixed with their own friendship with God, and the evidence of others friendship with God over the past , gives us in the present, deeper insights into how we too can be friends with God, and live from a place of knowing we are deeply lived. It’s a great resource for anyone who is seeking to follow the Spirit and journey with a willingness to have their hearts changed. I’m so enjoying and learning from this podcast! It’s a great opportunity to “ look again” to see anew how Gods Spirit has been working over time, throughout human history, ever bringing our hearts into the deeper revelation of Gods love for every person on the face of this planet. Please keep up that dessert call fellas- for the voices from the dessert are calling us all back home to Gods Love!
