Waterboyz Season 4 Ep 3: featuring Sportsnet's very own Ken Reid

Waterboyz Season 4 Ep 3: featuring Sportsnet's very own Ken Reid

The Boyz delivered once again this time with Sportsnet's one of a kind anchor Ken Reid!  Before the chat with Reid though Justin and Taylor talk about the crazy NBA trade deadline that saw one of the all time greats Kevin Durant on the move to the Suns and the middle of the pack Toronto Raptors turn into buyers and pick up Jakob Poeltl. The debate then turned to hockey and the NHL trade deadline. With the Ny Rangers adding an all-star in Vladimir Tarasenko will the rest of the east feel pressure to make a similar type of move.   Finally the Super Bowl predictions and talks before the game about what might happen. Justin and Taylor will hold this L for a while as Grant was correct in his Chiefs winning the big game 38-35.

Waterboyz Season: 4 Ep:1 Featuring UOttawa Commit Tyler Newson

Waterboyz Season: 4 Ep:1 Featuring UOttawa Commit Tyler Newson

The boyz are back in town! Justin and Grant are off to greener pastures after this season. But, for now, we will continue to bring you up to date sports news and interviews.

Speaking of news, the boyz had plenty to discuss after their month vacation, including the Raptors most recent troubles. Also in the NBA, the West is looking tighter every day.

More debate comes from the battle between Bedard and McDavid. Will Bedard catch up or bust? The Bruins are the favourites ahead of the deadline in a few months. Grant makes some wild predictions on the Coyotes after the deadline.

Finally, the boys talk the bowl. The Super Bowl.

Then, with football on the mind, we move to Tyler "the human missile" Newson.  From his humble beginnings in Hunter River, then to Moncton, then back to P.E.I., then to Holland College. Newson is now packing his bags for UOttawa's Gee-Gees.

His football career is one with many turns including a short stint at QB, creating a powerlifting social media page and being the man on our intro video.

We'll see you in two weeks!

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:12 Justin and Pals

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:12 Justin and Pals

This week on the pod, the boyz talked about everything in sports with a different format!  In the World Cup, Canada isn't looking too good in comparison to soccer powerhouses. Are they meeting expectations?  The MLB is broken according to Justin and Taylor. But Grant thinks teams like the Astros signing players like Jose Abreu is fair game.  There's trouble brewing in Denver as Mike Purcell was seen giving the business to Russell Wilson. Who was in the right? And with Deshaun Watson back in business this weekend, what are the Browns going to do? Be good? Grant doesn't think so while Taylor does.  In the NHL, the debate gets as hot as Seattle. With the Kraken looking good, what does their future hold? And, is Josh Robertson the best player right now? Finally, what does right now mean?  And, for our last segment, we've been lacking on QMJHL news. So, we talk about it all here!  Join us next week for our season finale!!!!

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:11 Featuring curling and broadcast icon Robbie Doherty

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:11 Featuring curling and broadcast icon Robbie Doherty

This week on the Waterboyz, Silly Rob!  Join us for a quick chat on the Blue Jays and some free agency talk.  Then, we turn our attention to the AFC after a strange Jets vs. Patriots game. After debating QB history in Denver and Kansas City, the boyz move to the NBA.  With Giannis' most recent headline involving a ladder and free throws, the boyz talked Celtics climb and a Bucks fall.  In hockey news, we threw it all out the window to debate Ovi or Sid. Taylor takes Ovi while Justin and Grant take Sid.  Finally we turn it to Robbie Doherty.  With appearances at The Grand Slam of Curling, multiple Briers, and junior visits, Doherty had a lot to talk about.  After an odd introduction into broadcasting and entertainment, Doherty made a career out of it. We discussed from first gig, to Silly Rob, to his latest Islanders play-by-play.

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:9 Featuring Franky the Franchise Lapenna

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep:9 Featuring Franky the Franchise Lapenna

The Boyz are back for another fired-up week of sports talk! The Phillies had all our hearts but in the end, the Astros raise the Commissioner's Trophy. Justin may have been right, this time.  The NFL is still upside down and the Boyz try to make some sense of it. The Eagles are undefeated, New York teams are good, and the AFC East could be the best division.  Is the NBA a young man's game? Grant makes the case that like a 68 Chevy, the old men are just resting up for their time. The NHL is seemingly as confusing as the NFL, the Devils are good, Buffalo can play, and the Leafs are struggling; what a time to be a sports fan!  Finally, it’s time to bring in Franky the Franchise! Franky Lapenna joins Taylor and Justin to talk jersey numbers, the President Cup Finals, a goalie's mentality, cute babies, and so much more!  The Waterboyz will continue to clock in every Wednesday and hope you continue tuning in for fantastic and fun up-to-date sports debates!

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep: 8 Featuring UPEI basketball star Kamari Scott

Waterboyz Season 3: Ep: 8 Featuring UPEI basketball star Kamari Scott

The World Series is heating up! With the stage tied at 1-1 during the time of recording, Justin thinks Astros will roll over the Phillies. Grant and Taylor still believe in the city of Philadelphia.  Week nine of the NFL is about to begin. Eagles are still on fire, Bears are surprisingly average and Tom Brady is shockingly mediocre. How long will this madness last? The boyz had some bold predictions.  In hockey news, the Maple Leafs are seventh in the Atlantic Division. Who is to blame? And the Arizona Coyotes are making fools of themselves by being proud of playing in a college arena. Grant says the mullet madness has to end.  Finally, basketball has just begun and Justin thinks it is a young man's game. Grant says the experienced players are saving energy for when it matters. Let us know who you think runs the league.  For the second half of this episode, a very special Kamari Scott joins the boyz. Scott tells stories of a tough childhood in a rough area of the GTA. After moving to the US for prep school, he came to UPEI, but not before playing against NBA stars in big arenas. Scott also shared his hopes for this season and just how excited he is for playoffs to start.  Don't forget to like and subscribe!
