    My name is Melissa, I have been teaching yoga on YouTube for the past 11 years. I am going to do something I have never done before. I am going to teach without a script or a plan and share with you my process for yoga practice when I come to my yoga mat. This class is not going to be for people who do not want to hear talking as I share a lot of my inner process, insights and awareness as I go through this class.



    If you are still with me, this is a wrist free, hand free, shoulder free class that evolved during filming in response to my experience with frozen shoulder by tuning into the needs of my body in the moment. It includes 7 poses that you can do now if you are experiencing a shoulder injury or frozen shoulder. It is not a practice about rehabilitation or recovery, rather it is about tuning into the inner wisdom of our bodies and responding to their needs, moment by moment, on all levels from our physical body, mental body, emotional body, energetic body and spiritual body.



    In this class I talk about how injury is a gateway to letting go of old ways of being. One of the old ways of being that is being released right now is the hierarchy between teacher and student. We are all our own teachers and this is why I felt it was so important to share my process as a student in an open and vulnerable way. I also speak about how their are seasons to our practice, literally from autumn, through winter, spring and summer, but also in various seasons of our lives. May this class be of benefit.

In fact I trained for several years as a yoga therapist, yoga teacher and group facilitator on how to help people to release emotions that were held in the body. 



    In this video I am going to talk to you about how emotions get held in the body, why emotions come out in yoga classes, what to do when emotions come out in yoga classes, what not to do when emotions come out in yoga classes and some general energy emotional maintenance that you can do so that emotions don’t start coming out at inopportune times.

    In this class we will focus on bringing mobility to our stiff joints through yoga. We will take familiar yoga postures like bridge pose, knee to chest pose, cat pose, lunge pose, mountain pose, warrior one pose, triangle pose, and forward folds to bring mobility to our stiff joints. We will focus on mobility of our ankle joints, knee joints, hip joints, spine, wrist joints, and shoulder joints through this 30 minute yoga class.



    In this series we will focus on simple mindfulness practices that you can incorporate into your daily life to calm your mind and sweep the dust from your heart.

    In this hatha yoga class for our large intestine we will pull and pressurize the tissues of our large intestines with simple hatha yoga poses like apanasana or knee to chest pose, knee down twist, cat pose and its variations, downward facing dog, boat pose and variations, easy pose and variations, seated twists such as marichyasana and variations and wide legged seated forward fold and variations. We will finish with a long savasana for relaxation with a beautiful poem by Amanda Merritt.

Just wanna say that i won't ever thank you enough for this way you make it more than easy for me to create an healthy routine...I can tell you yoga is on my top priority list for about 2 years now and it litteraly changed me...I know i feel better because of your teaching, both of you make it so fun to meet with my yoga mat...Sometimes it feels like Melissa get to see through my computer screen, you know that weird moment it sounds like you know precisely what's happening with my body, like my shoulders needing to relax or i might have stop breathing and you come up with that "keep breathing"!!! I can now hear you even when you're not talking, can you imagine, yeah my brain is creating this inner voice of you reminding me to remember it's yoga for real people and all kinds, what a silly monkey brain!!! Now after all this time i realize i really didn't know my body so well and now i'm proud i can connect with myself and it's all because of you guys and this awesome work you do...Please keep teaching yoga forever...Okay well love you guys, you're an awesome team and count me in for long, yeah you are stuck with me, hahaa!!! :)
