What’s Next For Michael Tait? with Josiah Hesse and Jessica Morris

TW: SA It’s been a big year for Jess and for Christian music. In June, she broke the stories about Michael Tait with The Roys Report, unveiling a 2 1/2 year investigation into allegations of sexual abuse and cover up. But she wasn’t the only journo who was chasing down the truth… Josiah Hesse, an incredible journo from the Mid West who wrote for The Guardian, was close behind.  Jess and Josiah’s lives are radically different - Christian/Atheist, Oz/USA - but she soon learned they had a lot more in common than she realized. Namely an evangelical upbringing, their taste in music and a passion for justice.  What happens next to Michael Tait and the Christian Music industry? Jess and Josiah talk about the what happened, what’s next, and what it cost them. Connect with Josiah @jojodancer3000 and JosiahHesse.com Preorder his book “On Fire for God” here. Let's Talk Breaking the Michael Tait & Newsboys stories

TW: Sexual Assault On June 4, Jess broke the story that rocked Christian Music: in an investigation for The Roys Report, she uncovered allegations that Michael Tait, formerly of DC Talk and Newsboys, had allegedly sexually assaulted three men between 2005-2014, In the following days and weeks, Newsboys would release a statement saying Tait had admitted to living a double life and Tait would release his own confession regarding substance abuse and unwanted sexual advances. As more stories came to light through The Guardian and The Roys Report, radio stations dropped Newsboys from airplay, and now they have been cut from their record label. In today's special episode, Jess chat's about how she began her two-and-a half year investigation, talks about why it's important these stories go public in Christian Music, and shares a radio interview she did with 96.3fm in Australia in the days following the first article.
