Here's what I love about Finlay: She's a very cautious person, but then every once and a while she throws a curve ball at me. We were testing a new show idea over the weekend and when we listened to the test episode to see how we felt she said: "Let's do it!" "When?" "Monday." -eyes emoji- And so, we now present to you a new weekly (?!?) show: Hwat?! Hweekly!! Wherein I update Finlay on interesting things that happened last week that she missed because she is a workaholic who never comes out of her studio. Part of me is saying "Joe, why are you doing this? You're so busy." But honestly the reason why we're doing this is BECAUSE we're so busy. Midnight Burger is complicated and intricate and stressful-in-a-good-way to make and when you're making something like that it's important to also do things that are very much NOT that. When Gloria took a waitressing job at a diner outside of Phoenix, she didn't realize she was now an employee of Midnight Burger, a time-traveling, dimension-spanning diner. Every day Midnight Burger appears somewhere new in the cosmos along with it's staff: a galactic drifter, a rogue theoretical physicist, a sentient old-timey radio, and some guy named Caspar. No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears there's always someone around who could really use a cup of coffee. At the nexus of all things, there is a diner.
