Ep. 212: Black Lieutenant Dan (Ft. Tairee Dillard)

My guest is Tairee Dillard, Denver stand-up comic & returning guest to InTALLerable.  He kindly put up with our non ADA-compliant studio setup, so that we could ring in the new year over some of life’s finer things: Hennessy & Red Bull, smoked chicken wings, and laughter among friends.  The last of which being the scarcest resource in our battle against AI Slop.  Tairee tells me about this random super hero he found around Denver called ‘The Vigilante’, how he got him connected with Alek Seballes (filmmaker, guest of InTALLerable), so together they can make a movie!  Follow Tairee on Instagram @TaireeTheComedian Help fund their project here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-bring-the-vigilante-film-to-life  We talked about perception and Tairee told me about his battle to reframe his confidence in his 30’s, misperception & women, his never-ending effort to make other people comfortable around him, and how he plans to put his foot to the gas in 2026.  Feet be damned, I believe in Tairee & hope you all enjoy his company as much as I did for this hang.  Just don’t get caught in the slow lane in front of him in 2026, because he will run your ass over on his way to the top! Ep. 211: (Not A) Christmas Special (Ft. Al & Sam)

Santa came late on this release, but only ‘cause his reindeer had a mixup with a Kia Soul.  He said our loyal fans would understand & appreciate the extra anticipation.  Not expecting any extra gifts, but any coal we get in InTALLerable’s stocking would only fuel our rise.   Our guests are old friends, Al, known for his disdain for all things, but especially Christmas, and Sam, professional producer, on-air talent, and recently voted both most likely to nail a clutch three in a local pickup game, or get nailed from behind by a 3 in a pickup on I-25.   (For one, two, three!!)  We get down to the truth about boxing day, Al’s battle with Traffic Enforcement, the movie that Al has been making for months with ‘The Vigilante’, being sucked back into streaming services by the Diddy doc, and a thorough argumentative examination of ‘The Grinch’, focusing mainly on his ostracized standing from Whovillian society.  Merry Christmas indeed, folks. EATIN’ w/ these fine people and many more funny guests @ Patreon.com/InTALLerable Only $2/month (First Run Tier) to support an independent show made by real humans eating (hopefully) real chicken. Ep. 210: Pizzazz Man & the High Seas (Ft. Brent Gill)

Our guest, Brent Gill,  is a stand-up comedian & Colorado-native who began performing comedy while attending CU Boulder.  After years of being a well-loved staple of Denver’s comedy scene, the founder of the ‘Boulder Comedy Show’ & ‘Good Session’ has moved to the modern Mecca (arguably) for stand-up comedy: Austin, Texas.  Brent is a seasoned storyteller with unlimited stage presence & pizzazz; we’re fortunate he made time to come on our silly, undiscovered, show to laugh & eat with us! Follow Brent on Instagram @iambrentgill & check out his shows ‘Good Session’ @goodsession.comedy & his work with Hole Hecklers @holehecklers  AND please (for your own sake), watch his special — ‘Live From Gilladelphia’  — on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/NazbuSmAFaE?si=U0TnbkuwxL7T0In3 Brent brought his appetite for smoked meat to Top Shelf and he was eager to share some of the low-lights from the early days on the road, including his first ever headlining weekend in Questa, New Mexico.  During this tale, we accidentally stumbled over an inspiring story of success for ‘The Best Impressionist in Albuquerque’ who was the scheduled feature act for Brent that weekend and has since gone on to “make it” on the silver screen (IMDb Page & all!).  I’d bet it has to be, the greatest story of triumph for any performer at the Liquor Store/VFW/Pool Hall/Mexican Restaurant in unincorporated Questa, NM.  Grant Lucas joins us for EATIN’ over on Patreon & an ‘After-Hours’ segment full of Brent & I listening to him with our mouths agape.  Grant taught us about sailing, the difference between car & boat racing, required mindfulness on the high seas, and the terrifyingly massive scale of the oceans.  It’s planetary, yo!  Don’t miss out. Thankful for our supporters at Patreon.com/InTALLerable who make our show possible! Join the squad today & help get more smoked meats into more hilarious mouths!! Ho Ho Ho!  Merry Christmas to all — especially all you who know how to properly pronounce: ‘Nuclear’.  Our guests are both returning InTALLerable fan-favorites & Denver stand-up comics, eager to drink some ‘Nog & munch the best backyard smoked chicken wings Colorado offers. Follow them on Instagram — Jeff @Jeff_Dingus_Morris & Grayson @Grayson_Garcia  In this Christmasy-adjacent episode, we learn some more ‘dead-dad’ lore from Jeff, including how around this time of year, his father would remind him how he was conceived.  A real pile-of-towels-in-the-mudroom baby Jesus manger vibe.  How angelic.  Grayson teaches us about the special aerodynamics that were designed in commercial airplanes, we wonder where Jeff hides the supposed credit card’s worth of plastic in his balls, & the debate of the year — how to pronounce the word: ‘Nuclear’ — gets so heated that we needed a call-in from (now LA comic) Tonya Sabrina, PhD holder in Nuclear Physics, to settle it.  A fun hang with the boys.  ‘Ope — and Greer!  How could we forget about our in-studio live portrait artist?!  She even joined us on camera for the EATIN’ — Patreon.com/InTALLerable Join $2/month lifetime access to all supporter content, all going to put more great meat into future guest’s mouths.  Thanks to our supporters who make our show possible.  FO & BW 0:00 — Guest Intros 1:00 — Portrait Artist (Greer) in Studio 2:00 — Spotify Wrapped 3:00 — Jeff’s Intervention 5:00 — Special Family Storytime 7:00 — Jeff’s Dead Dad Lore 10:00 — Dying in a Masculine Way 11:00 — WNBA Skydiver 12:00 — Uncle Bill Lore 15:00 — Hunter S. Ep. 208: Uncrustable Theft in Genocide Class (Ft. Garrett Nygren)

Our returning guest is the founder of Pallet City Comedy, host & producer of stand-up shows all around Denver, and a high school teacher molding the minds of our future leaders.  Between teaching freshman about genocide during his days and performing stand-up comedy at night, you might be wondering (like I was) how he manages to oscillate between the Holocaust and Ha-Ha’s.  Garrett Nygren says it best himself: “It evens out to a normal person.” Follow Garrett @Garrett.Nygren & @palletcitycomedy on Instagram! If I were a freshman again, I would want to start each day with Garrett’s goofy face at the front of the class, his mustache dancing through the material, teaching us about what every eager-to-learn student really wants to be learning at 8 am, genocide.  Garrett tells us about his sweet dance moves.  Isolations, Head-Spins, the guy’s got it all.  He even had a hat with one of those plastic squares on top, made specifically for spinning.  PSA: when Garrett gets to spinning on his head, you best be getting your face out of the way.  We talk about the ethical dilemma of AI usage in the classroom, Garrett shares about what it’s like to only be teaching a class about genocide, we wonder how to possibly install ‘Friday-Mode’ onto Sean’s brain, and we wonder what the new “third-place” could be in an America where people are drinking alcohol less and less.  I just pray it isn’t the sober coffee dance party that Garrett told us about.  Please, God, no.  Patreon.com/InTALLerable for bonus eps & EATIN’ w/ our guests! Follow Christian on Instagram @good_mornin_captain Christian tells me why Dogs are “one-note”, we hear about the cat-clash currently in his apartment, and he teaches me the differences for a child of “late-stage” divorce.  A self-described, ‘soapbox-free nobody’, Christian is getting more boujee by the day, so we are grateful to get him on InTALLerable while it’s affordable.  Chris joins the cast for the 'After-Hours' segment of the show.  EATIN’ w/ Christian (now with Video!) on Patreon.com/InTALLerable — $2/month lifetime access & you support putting more smoked meat into future guest’s mouths!  We love you.  P.S. Ep. 205: Forrest Gump of Cookin’ (Ft. Chef Pat)

Our guest hosts what he calls “The Dumbest Cooking Show on the Internet.”  A well-seasoned man-of-the-meat, Pat Dawson AKA Chef Pat (‘Cookin’ Meat with Chef Pat’), is ready to take on InTALLerable’s smoked chicken wings & tell us about his crazy life that has led him to his place as an integral part of the Denver Comedy scene.   Follow Chef Pat @Cookin_Meat on Instagram & subscribe to @CookinMeat on YouTube!                                            After dropping out of high school in Los Angeles, Pat traveled to Puerto Rico’s “Pork Highway” to learn how to make ‘lechón’, roasting whole pig in their traditional style.  Whether working his first job as a dishwasher or opening his own restaurant, Chef Pat’s unbeatable work ethic & unmatchable positive attitude led him to share his gift of great meat, with even better people.  He is the ‘Forrest Gump’ of cooking, always finding another box of chocolates amongst the “kitchen people” whom he loves.    Thankful to get to hang, eat, & learn from Pat.   There’s parts to this seasoning-of-life thing, and Chef Pat has all the right ratios.  EATIN’ w/ Chef Pat (including insider Meat-knowledge) available to supporters at Patreon.com/InTALLerable — $2/month lifetime access to all our bonus content.
