(Ep 226) Czech Ladies Open R2 with Emma Spitz & Marta Martin

After their rounds yesterday I was pleased to be joined by both Austrian star Emma Spitz & 2024 Czech Ladies Open champ Marta Martin after Emma shot -7 to finish -8 to put herself into contention again this week after a solid finish last week at Dutch Ladies Open and Marta shooting a -6 to finish -9 and 4 shots back as the past champions group consisting of Jana Melichova (2022), Diksha Dagar (2023) & Marta (2024) are all on -9 ahead of the final round at Beroun.  Now Emma is someone that I have wanted to chat to for a long time as think she is a fantastic player. She has been remarkably consistent for the last couple of years. Since losing in a playoff to Alexandra Forsterling at the German Masters in 2024, Emma has has a further 11 Top 10 finishes on LET & 17 Top 20's which include some big events like Saudi International & Aramco Houston while also representing Austria at 2024 Olympic Games at Le Golf National. I have maintained for a while that Spitz will win at some point soon so all the best to Emma in the search for her maiden LET title. Marta since her LET title win at Royal Beroun in 2024 by her own admission has been pretty rough in spells openly admitting to struggling with some injuries, mental fatigue and form troubles. She was open in the episode about how tough it was to not defend her title last year in 25' due to injury and also how missing 6 cuts in a row made her question her future in the sport. Marta is starting to play much better now and fingers crossed she can continue some good form as she looks to get back in the right direction. Thanks Emma & Martin for taking some time after your round to come and chat after a mental battle with the weather. Be sure to have a listen in, couple of great chats.

    (Ep 222) Patricie Macková

In this latest episode ahead of Czech Ladies Open at Royal Beroun, I was pleased to be joined by 2025 Lavaux Ladies Open winner & Czechia star Patricie Macková after finishing 5th last year on LET Access Series Order of Merit standings to win her Ladies European Tour card for 2026 with a Top 10 already this year at Ford NSW Open at Wollongong. Patricie is from the beautiful city of Prague and would start playing the game at age of 7, quickly becoming one of Czechia's top players and would win 2019 Czech International Junior U18 & U21 Championship and represent Czechia at 3x European Girls' Team Championships (2017, 2018 & 2019).  Patricie would go to University of Maryland near D.C. and would become a standout there winning 2022 Yale Invitational NCAA event as well as representing Czechia at 2x Espirito Santo Trophy's in Paris & Abu Dhabi, representing Czech at 2x European Amateur Team Championships at Conwy GC & Hämeenlina and being a part of 2023 Patsy Hankins Trophy team for Team Europe playing alongside Lottie Woad, Helen Briem, Kajsa Arwefjäll, Celina Sattelkau & Meja Örtengren.  Since 2018 Patricie has competed in her home events both Czech Ladies Open on LET & Czech Challenge on Access Series and has had 4 Top 15's at Czech Challenge as an amateur. In 2024 she would turn pro and the first year would be a struggle with a best finish of T11th at Rose Ladies Series. 2025 would see a great season for Patricie with 8 Top 10 finishes on LET Access Series including winning Lavaux Ladies Open in Switzerland, that would see the talented Czech star finish 5th overall on the Order of Merit standings and would gain her LET Card for this year. (Ep 221) Alejandra Llaneza

In what I can only describe as a fantastic but slightly chaotic podcast episode it was great to be joined by 2x Symetra Tour winner, Former LPGA Tour player, 2016 Olympian for Mexico & current LET Access Series pro Alejandra Llaneza who phoned in from Madrid after competing in Santander Golf Tour event in preparation for getting her LET Access Series season for 2026 up and running this week in Czechia after finishing last season in the top 25 in the order of Merit standings which included a win at Santander Golf Tour Avila.  Ale is from the beautiful city of Mexico City and began the game at 6 years old before winning the first of her 7 Mexican Junior Championships at the age of 11. Ale would go to University of Arizona and would win Rookie of the Year for 2007-08 season before winning on Cactus Tour in 2011 as an amateur then turning pro in 2012.  There has been many pro highlights from Llaneza as she comes into her 14th season on tour as a pro with milestones such as winning Silver Medal at 2014 Central American & Caribbean Games in Veracruz, finishing 4th at 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, winning twice on Symetra Tour at 2015 Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Charity Classic & 2019 Garden City Charity Classic, competing on LPGA Tour for 4 years between 2013-17. Also playing in 5 Major Championship events at 3x KMPG PGA Championships, 1x US Women's Open & 1x Evian Championship but nothing I'm sure will compare to the sense of pride of being selected in 2016 to represent Mexico at Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro a truly memorable experience for Ale. Come for the great career journey and stay for the Fruity Taco, dancing to the Macarena & Tequila chat. Not laughed so much in an episode in a long long time Ale was an iconic guest and can't thank her enough! Download via Podbean, Apple Podcasts & Spotify, also on YouTube.

    (Ep 219) Rebecca Earl

In this latest podcast episode I was joined by 2019 English Women's Amateur Strokeplay Champion Rebecca Earl who comes off a solid start to this year with a top 10 at Blair Atholl on Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa, T25th at Madaef Golfs Ladies Open in Morocco, T35th at Allegria Ladies Open in Austria both on LET Access Series as well as winning Rose Ladies Series event at Formby Golf Club a terrific achievement! Rebecca is from just outside of Chelmsford outside of London and started the game at the age of 11 where she joined Bishop's Stortford Golf Club but currently represents Princes Golf Club. In 2019, Rebecca would become the English Women's Amateur Strokeplay Champion before going to Wofford College in South Carolina where she would win 3x Individual NCAA DI Collegiate events before finishing off her final year at University of Houston in Texas. Rebecca would also finish runner up at 2023 English Women's Amateur Strokeplay.  Rebecca would turn pro in 2023 and would have a T12th at Santander Golf Tour Avila. In 2024 her best finish was 53rd at GET Golfing on LETAS proving just how difficult at times Golf can be at the highest pro levels something Rebecca was very open and honest about to her respect. In 2025 would see a T15th at Madaef Golf's Ladies Open, 48th at Czech Challenge & T13th at the prestigious Rose Ladies Open but would also see a run of 13 missed cuts out of 16 events although a very frustrating period it was important to find out how to deal with such adversity.  2026 has been a much better start for Rebecca and I wish her all the best this year in her push to the Ladies European Tour. Thanks for the chat and being open through some of the hardships. Download via Podbean, Apple & Spotify, also on YouTube.
