Dominoes Effect

Kim

Dominoes Effect was conceived by a group of six, 60+ friends who gather monthly for an afternoon of Mexican Train dominoes, accompanied by food, laughter and of course, conversations that move randomly through a myriad of topics including Medicare, health, theatre, electric bikes and how Judie with an "ie" has become the new Karen (of course there is a story there)!  Some topics are best reserved for a mature listener group because....well, it's the Dominoes Effect! After months of creative yet foggy minds molding the Dominoes Effect podcast  into it's initial form, the group realized the complexity of recording a podcast while playing live rounds of Mexican Train.  Thus, the Dominoes Effect podcast content is created from a variety of sources including conversations from the monthly gathering of friends, world events (yes, politics included) and the life journey of its host and guests. The podcast will bring in guests to share their knowledge and insights - making each episode unique as it evolves live! You may not become wiser from tuning into the Dominoes Effect podcast, but your life's journey will be fuller, and you will learn to hold each moment before letting it go into the universe! "If you let yourself be absorbed completely, if you surrender completely to the moments as they pass, you live more richly those moments." - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Three-ingredient Sausage and Cream Cheese Pastry  Total Time: 36 minutes       Yield: 12 servings 1x This Sausage Cream Cheese Casserole recipe is one of the easiest breakfast bakes. With just 3 ingredients you will love the buttery top with the savory and creamy flavours. Perfect to feed a crowd during the holidays for breakfast or brunch!! Ingredients 1 pound (16 ounces) of pork sausage 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 2 (8-ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls   Instructions Preheat the oven to 375°F. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it is browned. Drain the sausage, then put it back in the skillet. Stir in the cream cheese until it is melted and thoroughly mixed with the sausage. Make sure there are no lumps of cream cheese. Remove from the heat. Unroll one of the tubes of crescent rolls and lay it out flat on an ungreased, nonstick 9×13 baking pan. Press and pinch the seams of the rolls together, making sure there are no gaps in the dough. Spoon the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, but make sure there is about 1⁄2 an inch of space left around the edges. Unroll the second tube of crescent rolls, and carefully lay it on top of the sausage filling. Again, press and pinch the seams together and press the top and bottom layers of crescent rolls around the edges together to ensure that the filling stays inside. Bake for 15-16 minutes or until the crescent roll layer on top is golden brown, and allow the casserole to cool for 10 minutes. Slice and serve warm.

    Dominoes Effect - Episode 8 - July 2025

Send us a text Dominoes Effect Episode 8 - finished and ready for your listening pleasure!  Also included is a two-ingredient Cherry Breakfast Cobbler and a wonderful article about being "woke" (and it's a good thing) by John Pavlovic.  Thanks for listening and for your support...now on to episode 9! 2-Ingredient Cherry Breakfast Cobbler Ingredients: Nonstick cooking spray1 (17.5-ounce) can Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls or other brand if preferred.1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie fillingPreheat the oven to 375°F. Spray a 9x13 or 10x10-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Cut each cinnamon roll dough portion into four equal pieces (you will have 20 pieces total from 5 rolls). Pull apart the layers from each piece, making sure each sliver of dough is separated.  Pour the cherry pie filling into a large bowl. Add the dough pieces and mix until the pie filling covers each piece of dough. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.  Bake for 12 minutes. Meanwhile, tear off a piece of aluminum foil large enough to cover the baking dish. Spray one side of the foil with nonstick cooking spray. Remove the cobbler from the oven and gently lay the foil, greased side down, onto the cobbler. Return the cobbler to the oven and continue to bake, loosely covered, until the cinnamon rolls are fully cooked with no gooey parts remaining, about 18 more minutes.  Remove the cobbler from the oven and use a fork to gently stretch apart some of the cinnamon roll portion to check for doneness. The bread should be fluffy inside, not stretchy or gooey. If it’s still gooey, bake until the bread is fluffy and fully cooked, 5 to 10 more minutes. Be careful not to over or underbake this recipe; the cinnamon rolls should have crispy edges and soft centers, but not be gooey inside.  Soften frosting from cinnamon roll package and pour on top of cobbler.  Enjoy!
