The Spurs Show

I’ve been listening to this show religiously for about 15 years. These are hardened, weathered, Spurs fans who have seen it all. You could call them “the old guard” and I for one love the ex-player interviews and the harkening back to earlier times, because what else do we have as Spurs fans but memories of glory until we find glory again? Perhaps this show might work better for older fans, those like me who supported Spurs from the early 90s or before (I was at the 91 cup final with my dad), and can still remember what it feels like to be kings for the day. Data had not really entered the game back then and there is very little of that more modern, “sophisticated” way of looking at the game in this show. This show is more visceral and romantic than analytical, but still very insightful. Those guys have been around long enough to know that speaking of Xg and possession stats are only fillers until we can regain the feeling of winning. Theo in particular is a great, genial host. Mike is good fun. All in all, twice weekly therapy for me as a lifelong Spurs fan who lives abroad and only gets to a couple of games a season. Long may the show continue.

The Spurs Show is a absolutly to do thing for all Spurs fans!! With the great jokes and imitations by phil cornwell and his assistant mike leight every podcast becomes a unique one!!! Just try it it's worth it!
