Martha Keith has run her stationery business ‘Martha Brook’ for over a decade, and started the Business Secrets Club two years ago, to help small business owners with things she wishes she’d known when she started out. Martha told me about her 10 year fertility journey and her two IVF daughters aged 8 and 3. We also talked about how she’d had a late diagnosis of endometriosis, a very difficult birth with her first daughter and how she’d lost her beloved Dad Philip just before she became pregnant for the second time. I really valued Martha sharing all those things, and her takeaway advice for listeners is so valuable: 1. never assume what you see on social media is real 2. ask for help if you need it and 3. don’t neglect your health. #22- Bilan vacances: Juliette: "Revoir ses exigences à la baisse quand on part à plusieurs"

Warning: Cet épisode comporte aussi des témoignages des auditeurices! J’avais rendez-vous avec Juliette chez elle à Bruxelles dans son petit cocon haut perché, une vraie bulle de bonne humeur. Juliette est maman de deux adolescents de 17 et 14 ans et est séparée depuis 13 ans. Elle a fait depuis plusieurs année le choix de privilégier les vacances à plusieurs et je trouvais son mode de vacances intéressant parce qu’il impose nécessairement des limites que l’on ne se fixerait pas si on partait uniquement en famille, tout en ajoutant des bonus indéniables: partager son quotidien et ses besoins d’adulte avec d’autres parents, réduire le coût d’une location ou fournir une poignée de copains et copines clefs en main à ses enfants. Dans cet épisode, Juliette nous partage son cheminement dans le choix de ses vacances. Elle nous livre les leçons qu’elle a tiré de ses différents séjours avec les unes et les autres, le lâcher prise incontournable qui finit par s’imposer dans un séjour à plusieurs, et les sacrifices financiers que l’on est prêts à consentir pour que nos enfants vivent leur meilleure vie en vacance, parfois au détriment de son propre bien- être.
