    Finding Mentors, Wise Counsel & the Wisdom of Jesus

    One of the most important and common ways in which Jesus speaks to us is through the counsel and wisdom of His body. The truth is that we all need wise counsel and mentors who can help us to grow in Christ and point us to the love of the Father. The problem is that a lot of people have been hurt and abused by allowing the wrong people into their lives. Others have never found anyone that has the wisdom to mentor them.     Motivated by the Love of Christ

    Building a life in the secret place with our Father is a question of the heart. When we practice spiritual disciplines like prayer, fasting, bible study or soaking prayer, it is never to change God or earning a more favoured identity in His eyes. It is all about us being transformed so that we can abide in the love of Christ and live out of our identity as our Father´s beloved children.     The Rewards of the Secret Place

    Our Father longs to build a deep relationship of intimacy and trust with us in the secret place. When we respond to His invitation, the Father promises to reward us. This is not a calling to religious striving, because the heavenly reward system operates only by grace where everything is given as a gift to us. We are actually rewarded for what Jesus has done and is doing, both within our hearts and through our lives. Jesus does all the work and we reap the benefits of what He is doing.     Abiding in the Love of God

    The highest form of prayer is to practice abiding in the love of Christ. There we find healing, rest and peace, but even more important is that by abiding in Christ, we minister to the heart of the Father and delight His heart. Jesus is always present with us, but when we practice soaking in His love, we become present with Him as well. This is how we can live in experiental union with Christ.     When Christ is unveiled to us in the Song of songs, our true identity as His beloved and favoured bride is revealed as well.     The Strength & Grace of Christ Flows Through Us

    By trusting in the strength and grace of Christ that is flowing through us, we are delivered from having to trust in our own ability in our life with the Father. Zerubabbel learned this lesson while he was working on the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, together with the returning exiles. Through the prophetic ministry of Zechariah and Haggai, he learned that the work would not be accomplished through human power or might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. God often works with small beginnings to accomplish powerful things in the Kingdom of God.     Freedom From Guilt & Condemnation Through Christ

    There are few things that ruins and defiles our life with Christ as much as when we live under the burden of guilt and condemnation. Joshua, the high priest, experienced the truth in this when he was in the middle of rebuilding the temple together with the returning exiles from Babylon. Through the prophetic ministry of Zechariah and Haggia, Jesus delivered Him from Satan's accusations and the condemnation that had tormented him. Because of this, Joshua received grace from God to fulfill his divine assignment. The same will also be true for you and me today.
