A Serial Killer AI on the Loose? | Virtuosity Movie Reaction

Dom, ILL, and Q jump back into the 90s to review the cyber-thriller Virtuosity (1995) Directed by Brett Leonard, this sci-fi action film stars Denzel Washington as Parker Barnes, a disgraced ex-cop forced back into action to stop a deadly virtual reality experiment gone horribly wrong. The problem? The program — SID 6.7 — isn’t just any simulation. It’s a digital killer created from the personalities of dozens of real-life serial murderers. When the AI, played by Russell Crowe, escapes into the real world, Barnes must track down the sadistic super-villain before the body count rises even higher. Released by Paramount Pictures in 1995, Virtuosity mixed early virtual-reality concepts with high-energy action, but critics weren’t impressed at the time. Despite the mixed reception, the film has gained attention over the years thanks to Crowe’s over-the-top villain performance and its very 90s take on VR technology. In this episode of Say Whats Reel, the crew discusses: Russell Crowe’s chaotic performance as SID 6.7 Denzel Washington leading a futuristic manhunt The movie’s wild 90s vision of virtual reality Whether the film is a hidden cult classic or just a dated sci-fi experiment The action, effects, and story compared to other sci-fi films of the era Is Virtuosity an overlooked sci-fi gem, or should it have stayed in the simulation? 00:00:00 Non virtuously related 00:40:45 Virtuously review 00:55:48 virtuosity facts 00:59:23 Wraup up notes 01:03:33 next week films 01:08:44 Non Virtusly related II
